Beloved children of God in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am delighted to meet you all through this Auspicious word on this August 5th.
What is the Auspicious word the Lord has for us today? Let us read Matthew 6:33: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Many of you are expecting numerous blessings. You have many hopes and expectations in your heart. You desire that many good things should happen in your family, in the lives of your children, and in your workplace. There is nothing wrong with having such expectations. The Lord is ready to do all these things for you.
To receive these blessings, you are working hard. You have set goals for your life, and you are striving to achieve them. You are investing your time, money, talents, and strength to reach those goals. That is a good thing. However, for all your efforts to prosper, hard work alone is not enough. The money, time, talents, and strength you invest are not sufficient by themselves.
Alongside all these efforts, there is something even more important, and that is what the Lord is teaching us today. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” In other words, give priority to the things that help you grow spiritually. Seek the Kingdom of God and live a righteous life. When you make spiritual growth your first priority, your worldly growth is in the Lord’s hands. He will take care of everything else. More than you expected, He will bless you.
He will add every other blessing to your life.
I often use this simple illustration. When you buy idlis, the chutneys are usually served free. You pay only for the idlis, but along with them you receive coconut chutney, tomato chutney, mint chutney, onion chutney, idli podi, and sambar. They are all added as extras. Likewise, when you seek the Kingdom of God first, all the other blessings are added to your life by the Lord. Just as idlis are steamed and are considered healthy food, doctors often recommend them for those who are recovering from illness. I use this illustration simply to help you remember this truth. When you seek God’s Kingdom, His righteousness, and the things that strengthen your spiritual life, every other blessing will be added to you.
Testimony
“My mother suffered from severe sleeplessness. Because she could not sleep at night, she became weak and exhausted during the day. Although we consulted many doctors and hospitals, she was not healed. During that time, I visited the God’s Love Ministries Prayer Tower in Nagercoil and requested the prayer warrior to pray for my mother to sleep peacefully at night. I also shared that although I had been married for two years, I had not been blessed with a child. The prayer warrior prayed earnestly. The Lord heard that prayer, and from that day onward my mother began to sleep peacefully through the night. I also held on to the Bible verse the prayer warrior shared and continued praying with faith. By the grace of God, I conceived and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.” The Lord will do the same for you.
Prayer
Loving Lord, we thank You. In the name of Jesus, I bless every child. Help Your children to stop chasing only the things of this world. Instead, may they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. Give them a heart to pursue spiritual growth and to walk in Your ways. Then, according to Your promise, add every blessing they need—education, employment, promotion, financial prosperity, wealth, the blessing of children, an own house, and every good gift they are expecting. Establish Your children on this earth and make them a testimony for Your glory.
May this Auspicious word be fulfilled in their lives from this very moment. Amen.
