I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of John 2:10 , And he said to him, Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then that which is inferior, but you have kept the good wine till now.
From the above context we understand that the guests at the wedding of Cana expressed their gratitude to the owner of the house saying that it was surprising to notice that he had kept the good wine till the end of the wedding party that no one returned without tasting the wine. We know that there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee. Jesus his mother and his disciples were invited to the wedding banquet. And when the owner of the house ran out of wine the mother of Jesus said to Him, “ They have no wine.” When the appointed time came, Jesus said to his disciples, fill the six water pots of stone, with water. “And they filled the water pots with water. And they filled the water pots up to the brim. And He said to them, Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast and they took it to him. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from. Then he called the bridegroom and said to him the above statement. John 2:10, “And he said to him, Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then that which is inferior, but you have kept the good wine till now.”
This was the first miracle that God performed during His ministry. The Lord Jesus Christ obeyed His mother when she cautioned him saying that the wine was running out at the wedding of Cana. He not only obeyed his mother but also he waited for the appointed time to perform the miracle. When the time came the Lord Jesus changed the ordinary water into tasty wine. Serving wine at the wedding was considered as a prestigious custom in those days, for the Jewish people served tasty wine during the wedding occasion. And if they failed to serve the wine it was a great humiliation to the master’s house. Hence by performing this miracle God prevented the master of the house from being put to shame. God changed his shame to praise.
The Bible says, I will appoint them for praise and fame, where they were put to shame. I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth. God wants you to be blessed. He says, I am the Lord your God, and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame. God does not want his children to be put to shame in any way. He wants to give you beauty for ashes. Yes, God cares for you. Today God is serving you HIS WORD as the tasty wine that you might drink of it and be blessed. Because He sends His word and heals you. He opens His hand and satisfies every longing soul.
Look to Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith. He will solve your problem right now. He will wipe away your tears. He will change your sorrow into joy. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for revealing to us the importance of family life, by performing your first miracle at the wedding of Cana. Thank you Lord for changing our shame into praise. For answering our prayers and, blessing us with your powerful word. Teach us to increase our faith and believe that you are a God of Miracles. Help our family to grow like the vine tree.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Job 14:14, “If someone dies, will they live again? All the days of my hard service. I will wait for my renewal to come.”
From the above context we come to understand, that Job speaks to God, He stopped speaking to his friends as it did not serve any purpose. He pleads with God for his mercies. He says, man’s life is short and sorrowful. He thought that God was too strict and severe with him because during his early days, Job lived a glorious life. But a day came when he lost all that he had. His children, his cattle, his wealth and he had boils all over his body. Even his friends doubted his righteousness. They thought that he might have committed some serious sin in his life to suffer such affliction. Even his wife asked him to curse God and die. But Job says, “I will wait till my change comes.”
All Job’s expressions here show his belief in the great doctrine of the resurrection. Since his friends proved miserable he consoles himself with the expectation of a change. He says, “All the days, of my appointed time, I will endure with patience.” How the change will be, he does not know. But he thinks that it might be relief from his sufferings, or it might be happiness in some future state. He was certain that life was to be passed over and that man could not go over his youth or his age again. Job says that he would wait for the day of his renewal will come. Job knew there will be an end to all the days of hardship and affliction. But he was prepared to wait for a change to come in his life. God is able to change your bad time into good time as He did it for Job. Because he waited with patience for that spectacular day, God blessed Him.
All the blessings that you enjoy today are given by God. He gives and takes away. And what He takes away He is able to give it back to you. The Lord will give you back all the blessings that you have lost in your life, your job, your house, all your wealth, happiness, and peace in your family life. God will give you double portion of blessings. The Bible says, the Lord restored Job’s losses, and the Lord gave twice as much as he had before. He will bless you with the same measure if you wait on the Lord patiently for a change until it comes.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for encouraging us with your word. That if we wait patiently on you, You will give us back all that we have lost in life. Help us never to sin or charge God with wrong. Teach us to seek God during bad times. And commit our ways to God.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of Exodus 15: 23, 25, “Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people complained against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet.’’
The Waters of Marah were bitter. The people of Israel could not drink the water. They had been without water for three days. Since the waters were bitter it was called Marah. Moses led the people of Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the wilderness of Shur. To survive in the desert is not an easy or comfortable journey especially when there is limited or no supply of water. It’s a deadly place to be in when one has to live away from the land. Therefore we see that God led His people from the waters of Marah to waters of Refreshing. God has already planned His provision for your trials. This experience will encourage if you are going through a season of dryness or a bitter experience. From bitterness God leads His people to the wells of Elim. When they came to Elim, there were twelve wells of water and seventy palm trees. So they camped there by the waters. Both cattle and people drank water to the full.
Moses had a painful experience while leading the people of Israel through the wilderness before they could reach Canaan, the Promised Land flowing with milk and honey. At Marah people could not drink the water as they were bitter. Hence they murmured against Moses. So he cried out to God, for help. And the Lord showed him a tree. Moses threw it into the water and the water immediately turned sweet. Whenever the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, God would appear before them and relieve them in their distress. Moses knew the power of God and trusted in His faithfulness.
You too must have experienced such bitterness in your life and must have been saddened at heart. You might have selected a good college for your children but they would have gone through a miserable time in the college. May be you would have secured a good job for your son with much recommendation, but it turned out to be a great disappointment. It may be that you would have selected a good proposal for your daughter, but for various reasons, the marriage of your daughter turned out to be a bitterful experience. Therefore you are very dejected in life. Please look up to God He will come down and solve all your problems and relieve you of your distress. For God’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, Nor his ear heavy that He cannot hear. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You Lord for changing the bitter water into sweet water for the children of Israel. You are mindful of Your children. We praise you God for Your faithfulness and power. Bless your children who have been dejected in their life. May their future be brightened. Help them Lord to seek You as the Lord of their life. Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Genesis 8:1, “Then God Remembered Noah and every living thing. And all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth. And the waters subsided.”
From the above context we learn a blessed lesson that even in the widest sweep of the most stormy weather, there are those who abide safely fearing no evil. Though the waters surge furiously there is a rock on which we may stand safe above the highest wave. And yet God remembered Noah. Not because of favouritism but because he obeyed God. Noah was bid to build the ark for he was righteous in a world of evil doers. Therefore God remembered Noah while he was in the ark with his wife, his three sons and three daughter in laws. God who closed the door of the ark, and brought forth strong winds, and heavy rains, now opened the door for Noah and his family and the wild animals and other living things, to come out of the ark. God spoke unto Noah, saying “Go forth. —And Noah went forth.”
As a sacrifice, Noah built an altar unto the Lord as soon as he came out of the ark along with his family and all other living creatures. Thus all our deeds should be set with a heart of thankfulness. After the floods the whole race of mankind was dead. Only Noah and his family were alive in the ark. When God remembered Noah, it means that God remembered the whole of mankind and had mercy upon them.
Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, the Lord saw, that the wickedness of man was great upon the face of the earth. And that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created, from the face of the earth, both man and beast.” And Behold, I myself, am bringing the floods of waters, on the earth to destroy all living things.” Therefore God instructed Noah to build an ark to protect Noah and his family. The Bible says, Noah did according to all that God commanded Him. And being obedient to God he built an ark. His family entered into the ark along with every living creatures and God closed the door of the ark such that no one could open it. After that there was a heavy rain. There was a great turbulence, among the deep. And waters covered the earth. Floods of water sprang forth from every corner of the earth and gushed with great force forming fountains of water all over the earth. The flood was on the earth for forty days.
In the midst of all these stretch of waters, like storms, cyclones, and floods and all the uproar, the ark floated safely and steadily above the waters since it was built according to the plan of God and rested on the mountain Ararat. God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided. God then opened the doors of the ark for Noah and his family to come out of the ark along with all the living creatures, and occupy the earth peacefully. God said to Noah and his sons, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” God blessed Noah and his sons, because Noah obeyed God and walked according to the plan of God.
When you walk as per the will of God, then God will bless you and your family, for He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Jesus, Himself will be an ark and protect you from all hurdles that you face each day of your life. Though the storm may rage and the wind may blow in your life, He will carry you through. So obey His voice and follow His plan, however hard it might be, and then He will bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for telling us that you not only protect the righteous like Noah, but also bless our family from the disasters to come. Help us to obey Your voice and fulfil Your plan in our life. Bless and multiply us, as you blessed Noah and his family.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Isaiah 51:3, For the Lord will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places. He will make her wilderness like Eden. And her deserts like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in it. Thanksgiving and the voice of melody.”
From the above context we understand that our God is a God of comfort and wants to comfort you with His word. He will comfort all your waste and ruined places of your life and change your life of wilderness like a Garden of Eden a fertile and fruitful plantation.
God wants you to share your sorrows with Him because only He can solve your problem. The Bible says, “Until now you have asked nothing, in My name. Ask and you will receive that your joy may be full.” He is a God who fills the empty space of your life. There was a widow in the Bible whose life was almost dry like the wilderness. She was the wife of a prophet. He had served the Lord very diligently but unfortunately he died, leaving behind his wife and two sons in huge debts. And the creditor had come to take away her two sons as slaves to work in the farm yard. Firstly she was a widow; secondly her two sons were all her wealth that she had. How could she part her sons away from her, as slaves? So she ran to the Prophet, Elisha, and told him of all her struggles and her problems.
Elisha asked her what shall I do for you? Tell me what do you have in your house? And she said, “Your maid servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.” Then he said, go borrow vessels, from everywhere, from all your neighbours. –empty vessels. As many as you can. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door, behind you and your sons, then pour, it into all those vessel, and set aside all those full ones. So she went and did as she was instructed by Elisha. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, she asked her son to get another vessel. But he said, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil in the jar stopped flowing. Then she went and told Elisha all that she had done. He said to her “Sell the oil and pay all your debts, and you and your sons live on the rest. ”
Thus she shared her problem to the man of God, as a result he advised her how to manage her financial situation and therefore she paid her debts and her sons were safe and secure. God delivered her from the cruel hands of the creditors. You too must share your problems with God, only then He can help you. He says, Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. Again He says, Call upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.
The Bible says, “ A joyful heart shall do good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Elisha showed kindness to the widow at the right time. He never hurt her or despised her as people commonly do when they come across a poor widow like her. His comforting words encouraged her to obey him and so she and her children were blessed. She proved to be a wise woman.
There are many mothers and even fathers who are reading this message with much sorrow and grief regarding their children. They are worried about their education about their future and their settlement. Today it seems so difficult to bring up children because they are exposed to a lot of unnecessary things. As a result their mind is distracted. Very few children are obedient to their parents in this current scenario, because there is no proper understanding about parents and their own children. They never sit together to sort out their problems. Hence many parents are grief stricken and children are a burden to parents. But the widow set a good example, her sons were obedient to her. They went out to the neighbours and collected all the empty vessels as many as possible. And shut the door behind them and helped the mother to pour the oil in all the empty vessels. Therefore they were blessed.
God changed their wilderness or desert like situation into that of a fertile garden, and also brought gladness into their hearts. Joy and gladness was found in their house. There was Thanksgiving and the voice of melody just as God promised in His word mentioned above. God will also bring gladness into your house if you humble yourselves before the mighty God. The Bible says, “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You for comforting us through your Word. We thank You for Elisha who helped the widow and her sons in times of adversity. Likewise we pray that You will help us also during times of trouble and distress. Help us to grow our children rightly in the ways of God. Help us to humble ourselves, in the mighty hand of God, that You might exalt us in Your appointed time.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
