God’s Goodness

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has kept for you today is from the book of Psalms 107:35-37 ,“He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city.”

From the above passage we learn that, God turns  the wilderness into a standing water which means that God  does his work of mercy, for a deep lake is seen,  where before there was only a sandy waste. It is not by natural laws, working by some innate force, that this wonder is wrought, but by God Himself. HE TURNS through His Power. And dry ground into water springs. Continuance, abundance, and perpetual freshness are all implied in water springs, and these are created where all was once dry and deserted.   This wonder of mercy is the precise reversal of the work of God for His children and wrought by the self-same hand. And in each individual,   the mercy of the Lord soon works wonderful changes.  O that we might see this verse fulfilled in all around us, and within our own hearts as stated by the Psalmist.

God’s providence is illustriously displayed in His influence on two great elements of human prosperity, the earth’s productiveness and the powers of government. He punishes the wicked by destroying the sources of fertility, or, in mercy, gives fruitfulness to deserts, which become the homes of a busy and successful agricultural population.  The people sow the fields, and plant vineyards cultivate the earth. The culture of the vine was an important feature in agriculture in Palestine, during Ancient times. So these  fields yield   fruits of increase; and  all sorts of grain for food, and the vineyards wine for drink.

The Bible says, many surprising changes are often made in the affairs of men!    If we look abroad in the world, we see many increase greatly whose beginning was once small. We see many who have thus suddenly risen, as suddenly brought to nothing. Worldly wealth is uncertain; often those who are filled with it, lose it again. The righteous shall rejoice. When sinners see how justly God takes away the gifts they have abused, they will not have a word to say. It is of great use to us to be fully assured of God’s goodness so that we may be benefited by it.  A truly wise person will treasure in his heart this delightful   psalm. From it, he will fully understand the weakness and wretchedness of man, and the power and loving-kindness of God.

In a spiritual sense the “fields” are the world, and the seed which is sown is the word of God,   the persons that sow it are the ministers of the Gospel, which, by a divine blessing, brings forth fruit, in some thirty, some sixty, and some an hundred fold: the “vineyards” are the churches, planted by Christ and by his ministers. So the seed of the word being sown, and churches planted, they increase with the increase of God, and bring forth fruits of righteousness to the glory of His name.

Are you fertile for the Lord to sow His seed and bring forth fruit in its season?   Or do you possess a dry and parched land. Where crops cannot grow and   trees cannot yield fruits?   God wants to spring forth water in your parched life.   I earnestly wish to encourage those of you who are reading this message with great concern that;   you have been going through dry and rough path of life. God wants to create a fertile and greenery in your life by causing the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs. Once you begin to flourish then He will make the hungry to live and finally help you to establish a city for yourself.  May be you have been a failure until this day. Everything you did became a failure. But hereafter God is opening new avenues to reconstruct your ruined life. God is going to help you regain all that you have lost in your life. He will teach you how to get profit in your business, how to rise at your work spot, how to increase in all the work of your hand. So long you did not get your citizenship abroad. But soon you will obtain it. God says, “Commit your ways unto the Lord trust also in Him, and He will make it to pass.” You will shine and bloom in the future. God bless you.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,   we    thank You for this blessed day.  Father God, thank You for telling us to be more truthful in our daily life. Because we see someone suddenly rise up in life and some slide down suddenly in life because of their foolishness and because of their faithlessness in God.  Teach us to be wise and alert in every step we take. May we depend upon God who causes the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; So that we may  sow seeds in our fertile land and bring forth fruit in due season. Lord please cause the righteous to rejoice in You.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

The House of the Righteous

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has kept for you today is from the book of Proverbs 15:6, “In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, But in the revenue of the wicked is trouble.”

From the above passage we learn that,  “A righteous man enjoys a happy and quiet life with more than necessities supplied, but a wicked man has adversity and suffering even while he seems to be successful in the outside world. Inner joy that is within the heart enables the righteous to be outwardly cheerful, even amid afflictions because they fear God and love others, they are truly contented even though not wealthy. Those who bring joy to others can be assured of God’s goodness to them but God opposes those who plot evil and use their positions of power to exploit the poor and the defenceless A cheerful face, like good news, brings refreshment to others.  Again the book records that to gain wisdom, people must be willing to learn, be reverent towards God and humble in spirit.

In the revenues of the wicked  there is trouble: though he may obtain great revenues, yet they are attended with much trouble and vexation; either because they are strangely blasted and taken from   others,  or because they are embittered  to them by their own insatiable desires. They are often  tormented by the  cares and fears, or the horrors of their guilty consciences,   The wicked have much trouble in getting their riches, by which they pierce themselves through,  with many sorrows; they have much trouble in keeping them; cannot rest nor sleep because of their abundance, lest it should be taken away from them; and they have much trouble in parting with them, when they are, by one providence or another, stripped of them; and, besides, they have them with a curse, and are ever attended with uneasiness, on one account or another. The Bible says, “Blessings are on the head of the Righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.”

In the house of the righteous is much treasure. God sometimes blesses the righteous with great riches, as he did Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Even Solomon and his father David were blessed with glory, honour and riches. Even Job was a wealthy man during his times. However, it is better than the riches of many wicked; because they have, what they have with a blessing, and they are content with it: and they have abundance of spiritual treasure; they have God for their portion; Christ, and all good things along with Him; the rich graces of the Spirit; a rich experience of the grace of God. To those of you reading this message, I urge you to apply the character of the righteous.  If you are a righteous person then your house will be blessed.  For the treasure earned through honest means will give you peace and happiness. Be true to your employer under whom you work. Or be honest in the business you do. Never do business with wrong items like liquor, cigarette, and other stuff that would displease God. Be loyal to those who work under you. Never accumulate work pressure on them. God is watching you all the time.  Be kind, be generous, then God will prosper you and your family. For the Bible says, “what you sow is what you will reap.” God bless you.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,   we    thank You for this blessed day.  Father God, thank You for telling us to be righteous rather than be like the wicked. Help us to walk in wisdom, with much understanding and   discretion. Teach us to be content with the blessings of God and not earn through wrong means. Create in us a clean heart, renew a right spirit within us. Make us to choose that which is pleasing and right in the sight of God.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

I will deliver you

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has kept for you today is from the book of 2 kings 20:5-6,  “Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord. And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David.”

From the above context we come to understand that king Hezekiah was sick unto death. Therefore God sent his servant, Prophet Isaiah to inform king Hezekiah that he was going to die and hence asked him to set right his house and prepare himself for his death. On hearing this message Hezekiah was distressed, because he did not even have a son who could be the heir to his throne after his death. So he turned towards the wall and began to weep to the Lord in prayer. He reminded God of all his good deeds he had performed as a man of God. He feared God and did that which was right in the sight of God. This he reminded to God.

Through prayer we get strength and grace, from God to enable us to do well. So Hezekiah wept sorely. He boldly told God, about himself, “Remember now O Lord, I pray, how I have walked before you, in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in your sight, and Hezekiah wept bitterly.

Because of his faith in God, the Lord heard his prayer and sent Prophet Isaiah back again to Hezekiah to inform him that God had heard his prayer. God said, “Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord. And I will add to your days fifteen years. “Today many of you who are reading this message,   might be like Hezekiah, crying to God over many reasons. May be you don’t have a proper job to sustain your family, or you are not in a position to get your daughter settled. Some would have lost your loved one due to Corona, or might have been caught up in debts and you are not able to liberate yourself from such a huge financial crisis. You are steeped in sorrow and distress.  One of your family member may be hospitalised and under medical treatment for which you need to pay a big sum of money as medical expense. You are in a tight corner   situation not knowing what to do.

Learn to pray to God like Hezekiah. Pray without ceasing.  He prayed, until God changed his situation.  He heard his prayer and healed him of his severe disease   and also blessed him with an extension of fifteen years of his life and it was during this period that he was blessed with a son, Manasseh.  Hezekiah’s piety made his sick bed to bounce back with good health. Hezekiah said, “God remember me whether I live or die let me be  thine.”  Hezekiah feared God. While he was a king he did many good things, like his father David had done. He removed the high places, and broke the sacred places  of foreign gods. He cut down the wooden images, and broke in pieces, the bronze serpent, that Moses had made.  He trusted in the Lord God of Israel, He held fast to the Lord. He did not depart from following God. So the Lord was with him and he prospered wherever he went. It was during his reign that he fell sick and died. Then Manasseh   his son reigned in his place, he came to the throne while he was just sixteen years of age.  See how God had blessed Hezekiah, because he feared God and did that which was right in the sight of God.

Are you following God at all times. Is your life in tune with God or have you forsaken God and operating in your own way. Have you given up all your bad habits? The Bible says, He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God. Therefore do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. Then God will hear your prayers and rescue you, from your bed of illness. He will lengthen the days of your life. He will also bless you with children and let you see your children’s children also. Even now during this pandemic period, we see death sweeping many people, when they are quite young in age. All I wish for you is that you return to God. No matter how shabby your life had been in the past. God is not worried about your past life but looking if only you would humble yourself and fall at the feet of God and pray like Hezekiah. God saw his faithfulness and his humbleness and immediately answered his prayer. God will answer you immediately when you give up all your evil ways and get right with God and follow his footsteps. God Bless you.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,   we    thank  You for this blessed day.  Father God, thank You for telling us to be more faithful and also humble ourselves, like Hezekiah. Thank You Lord for this message, through which we see the greatness of God, towards a humble king. Lord teach us to give up all our bad habits and live a clean life before God.  Forgive our past sins and receive us as your children.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

I will watch over you

My beloved children of God, what a great privilege it is that our Lord’s eyes are upon us! When the Lord watches over us there is an expiry date for all our problems. The Bible says:

“the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year”( Deuteronomy 11:12)

In the Old Testament, we read about a woman Hagar who worked in Abraham’s house and suffered a lot of injustice. She was a slave girl. She came as an orphan to work in Abraham’s house. The climax of the cruelty was when she was in distress in the wilderness with her son, totally uncertain of her next step. There was no one to enquire about her wellbeing. When Hagar and her son were at the brink of death without any food or water, the eyes of the Lord fell on them. Our Lord lovingly  enquired, “Hagar What happened to you? Where are you going?” (Genesis 16:7,8;21:9-18).The same loving God is asking you, “Daughter, what is your problem? why are you crying? what happened to you?”.  That day God looked at Hagar, enquired of her wellbeing, solved her problems, opened a well of water and saved her son from the grip of death, and her son survived. In the same way God will open the fountain of life that you and your children require to prosper.

Are you saying that – all the doors are closed with no way to live, no way to survive, no way to progress? The God who wants to bless you, will open today a fountain for your income, a fountain for your life. “Who will rescue me from this deadly debt?” –  Is this your cry child of God, because you are unable to bear the torture of the creditors, today God will wipe away your tears and help you find favour in the eyes of men. He will give you a permanent job, or a successful business, or a fruitful ministry and bless it so that you will be able to repay all your loans. The Lord who opened the pathway for Hagar’s survival when she was cluelessly wandering in the desert, and beautified her son’s life by making him a leader will do the same for your children. “You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow”.(Deuteronomy 28:12) thus says El Roi, ‘the God who sees you’.

Once a mother brought her young son to me for prayer. With tears in her eyes she shared her story, “Sir, my son is 36 years old, but he is yet to secure a permanent job. Hence his marriage is getting postponed. I am in the 4th stage of cancer, and according to the doctor’s diagnosis I have been informed that I may not survive more than a month. I have one final desire, before I die, I want to see my son’s marriage”. I told her, “Daughter, you have come in search of God’s presence. It is not just the three of us present here in this room, but also El Roi, ‘the God who sees you’ is present as the fourth person amidst us.  It is a simple thing for the Lord to give a job to your son, or to conduct your son’s marriage and to keep you alive. “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord”(Psalms 118:17). He will heal you and give you the grace to raise and nurture your grandchild”, saying this I prayed for her.

What a wonder! Just within 2 weeks, he secured a permanent job in an MNC with good renumeration. And in 30 days, his marriage was held in a very blessed manner. Currently, for the past few years the mother is happily raising the child born to her son. There came an end to her disease. Her son was blessed with a bright future. Child of God who is reading this in faith, may all these blessings come to fruition in your life.

Prayer:  Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day. Lord you are the God who sees us. As you blessed Hagar, bless my children. Help them to come out of their difficulties and prosper them. Always watch over your children and bless them. In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

God Is Our Refuge

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has kept for you today is from the book of Isaiah 54:11, 12, “O you afflicted one, Tossed with tempest, and not comforted, Behold, I will lay your stones with colourful gems, and lay your foundations with sapphires.  I will make your pinnacles of rubies, Your gates of crystal, And all your walls of precious stones.”

From the above context we learn that God is our refuge especially to those who are being oppressed. Just as a demolished city lashed by storms needs to be rebuilt God will help you to rebuild   your oppressed state of life with   precious stones of         rubies. God will not only help you to rebuild but also comfort Zion. What is the Lord going to do for you during the period of oppression? He is about to do great many things for you. Firstly He will send his word and comfort you. Secondly, by the power of His word He will give you refuge in your period of affliction. The Bible says, “The Lord will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. God says, He Himself will be a Shield, and Shelter, to the oppressed and to those who have been rejected. For the Lord will not only give them refuge, but also help and support them during the time of oppression. The Bible says, “God is our refuge, and strength. A very present help in trouble.”

Are you going through a trying period, of your life. May be you are inflicted because of serious disease or because of loneliness, or have you been dejected because of rejection, and being despised by your dear ones? Are you trapped, due to huge debts, and you are not able to be relieved from it. May be you are frustrated because of shame and humiliation in your life. You are unable to face your friends and relatives. All these oppression causes you to panic and you are gripped in fear and threat. Are the neighbours causing oppression to you? Are you facing oppression at your work spot?  Is someone causing trouble in your ministry? Are people speaking bad about you and your ministry? Well, My God says, when you go through oppression, “I will be a refuge to you. “You are reading this message hoping that God will show you a ray of hope  in your life. The Lord will send His powerful word and comfort and console you. He will protect you from your evil neighbours and from your enemies. All their weapons aimed at you will not prosper because  God will be a wall of fire around you. He will deliver you from the hands of all the wicked and cruel people who do all things to curb you from    your wellbeing.

When people go through oppression, they go far away from all the comforts which they had enjoyed previously in their life, and they are apparently forsaken by God.   But God who seems, to have forgotten them says, Behold, I will lay your stones.  ‘For Jerusalem shall be rebuilt up with sapphires, and emeralds, and precious stones; and of pure gold. And the streets of Jerusalem shall be paved with beryl, and stones of Ophir. Just as God desires to decorate the temple of God in Jerusalem by rebuilding it with precious stones, in a similar way the Lord will brighten up your days with beauty, magnificence, purity, strength, and solidity. God will not only help you to prosper, but He will help you to lie down in peace, once you have passed through the period of oppression.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,   we    thank You for this blessed day. Thank You God for being our refuge and helper in times of oppression. Thank You Lord for telling us the reason why You allow affliction in our life. Help us to remember You and return back to You. Give us the strength to bear our trials and affliction when we are compelled to go through such oppression. Lord be our strength and shield.  Help us to come out of it quickly and be relieved.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
