January 1, 2021
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Who is our Creator, Maker, and Unforgettable God. I consider it my privilege and take pleasure in sharing the first message for this New Year 2021. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Deuteronomy 13:17, “ So none of the accursed things shall remain in your hand, that the Lord may turn form the fierceness of His anger, and show you mercy, have compassion on you, and multiply you just as He swore to your fathers.”
In the above context we see how Moses pleaded the Lord to show compassion and mercy to the people of Israel. In the same way I have pleaded to the Lord for your good cause. Since the whole world had experienced much sorrow and pain and agony because of Covid -19, and had suffered much, as some of you have lost your business, your dear ones, your jobs and many good things. Again there is a rumour about the second wave that could be more severe. So like Moses I have pleaded to the Lord that people cannot bear another pandemic, therefore to show pity and be merciful to the people who totally depend on God for their survival. And prophetically God told me that God will show pity on the people. Therefore do not be afraid. or dismayed over the things that are taking place because God is in control of you and your family.
Many of you are thinking in your mind will the New Year, be a year of peace. Will we enjoy liberty and security of life in the coming year? To such people the Lord says, in this New Year, “I will turn from the fierceness of my anger and show compassion on the people.
God wants to bless you with three kinds of Blessing.
Firstly He will be merciful to you. Secondly He will have compassion for you and thirdly He will multiply you. I would like to place these three blessings upon each one of you and bless you as you enter into this New Year 2021.
It is because of His love for you that He has taken pity on you. All that you have gained as you enter the New Year is your life and confidence. And this being your investment God is going to multiply you with what you have. In order to be safe and protected by God you need to obey the commandment of God. Do that which is good and pleasing to the Lord. Give up all that is evil and displeasing in the sight of God. We need to hear the voice of God. Then God will be considerate towards you. Never act in a manner so as to provoke God, set aside your old sinful nature and put on the new man, the nature of God. Then God will arise to do good to Zion for the appointed or set time has come to show favour to her. So open your heart to Him and He will live inside of you. Once you let Him in then there will be a great transformation in your life.
Secondly the Lord will arise for you, as he dealt with Ruth and Naomi who returned to Bethlehem the house of Bread. As soon as they entered many good things happened in their lives. Naomi who said “call me Marah was praised by the women of the town saying “ Blessed be the Lord, who has not left you this day without a near kinsman and may his name be famous in Israel, when Ruth got married to Boaz and gave birth to Obed and thus built a new generation. God provided food, livelihood, husband, a son, and also gave them peace and joy, similarly as you enter this New Year God will meet all your needs.
The Lord will not cast you off for ever. Though he causes grief He will have compassion on you. According to the multitude of His mercy, God will uproot the entire blockade that was a hindrance for your progress, last year. When you take an effort to change and mend your ways then God will show mercy on you. A woman of Canaan pleaded God to heal her daughter. God took pity on her and healed her daughter. A man pleaded God to show mercy on his son who was possessed with demonic spirit. God took pity and delivered his son from, the demonic spirit. Two blind men came not knowing where to go and pleaded the Lord for mercy. The Lord touched their eyes and gave them sight. Our God proved to be a God of mercy and Compassion. He rises to save them to the uttermost. Today the Lord will show compassion to you and will save you.
Finally the Lord will increase you day by day. The Bible says, “ David, went on and became great. And the Lord of Hosts was with Him”’ This David was a shepherd boy despised by his father and brothers. But since he praised the Lord while he was tending the sheep over the mountains and hills God took pity on him and exalted him to that of a king in Israel. In the New Year instead of murmuring against God, keep praising Him with songs of praises then you will experience an elevation in your life for God lives in the midst of praises. Then the walls of Jericho will fall, the river Jordan will go behind, and even if the Red sea should stand before you God will make a way for you by dividing the sea into two. God will break all the barriers that stand before you and will go before you and make way to prosper you. He will lead you to a land flowing with milk and honey the land of Canaan. You will be great like David. God will bless you and your descendants after you as He blessed David and His son Solomon after him, to sit on the throne. I wish you and your family a happy and prosperous New Year. God bless you.
Prayer. Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Father, we bless and thank You for all the blessings you have poured upon us. We thank you Lord for preserving our lives in the year 2020 which was a horrible year and we pray that you will continue to bless us in the New Year. May we increase our faith in You and improve the pattern of our prayer life. Help us to give up all ungodliness and become more righteous and God fearing in our lives. Lord may we taste and see that the Lord is good all the time. Even though he causes grief, yet He will show compassion on us. Restore to us all that we had lost in 2020 and bless us with joy peace and prosperity as we enter the New Year. Help us to be pleasing to God and do that which is good in His sight. Help us to refrain ourselves from all evil thoughts and deeds and live a life pleasing to God.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
AMEN.
