I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Luke 1 :13,14. Ànd the angel said unto him, “Fear Not Zacharias, for thy prayer is heard and thy wife, Elizabeth shall bear thee a son and thou shall call his name John. And thou shall have joy and gladness and many shall rejoice at his birth.”
Two thousand years ago, there was a couple, known as Zacharias and Elizabeth. They were living together. They were a god fearing couple. They were eminent for piety and integrity. They were living a righteous and god fearing life through God’s grace. Zacharias was a priest ministering unto the Lord. They did not have a child for a long period of time. They had all the blessing except the blessing of a child. They had been praying to the Lord for the gift of a child for so many years, but there was no answer from above. So they stopped praying. They were quite old and full of age. This might be the reason for not having a child. Even though they stopped praying the God whom they worshipped did not forget them.
Their prayer request for want of a child was still, kept pending in heaven. Sometimes we pray, but when we don’t get an answer to our prayers then we sink into depression. You should never think that God will not help you in any situation in your life. When the right time comes, God will surely give you an answer to your prayers. That’s how a miracle happened in the life of Zacharias. One day while Zacharias was burning incense in the temple, an angel appeared before him and said, “Fear Not Zacharias your prayer has been answered. Your wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son and thou shall call his name John.” Zacharias was rather scared to see the angel. He had forgotten his long time prayer for a child since they were too old to beget a child. The angel had brought a good news to Zacharias though it was very late.
The Prayers Zacharias often made, received an answer of peace. God heard the prayer of Zacharias that was pending for a long period of time and the prayer for offspring was considered as an object of intense desire by the Jews in those times. God dealt kindly with him in spite of his doubt. He wondered how it could be possible for Elizabeth to bear a son, when she was quite old of age. God made him dumb because of his unbelief, that he would not speak any more distrustful and unbelieving words.
We need to have complete faith in God when we pray for any particular thing. May be a job, marriage settlement, and offspring, healing of sickness or success in business, whatever prayer we offer unto God we need to pray with great faith. Only if you would believe you would see the glory of God. But when you ask you must believe and not doubt, for the Bible says, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for, in prayer.” Never lose faith in the Lord your God. Because God has appointed a perfect timing for each and every blessing to take place in your life. When the right time comes, God will perform a miracle for you. So never grow weary, or become depressed when your prayer does not get an answer. You should not lose heart, or become weary in your faith in God. For the Bible says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick. But when the desire comes it is a tree of life”.
Even while you are reading this message good news is coming your way. Your prayers which had been long pending is being answered today. God will give you and expected end. The doors that were shut until today, are being opened, for you today. God is opening the doors of your womb, the doors of your job opportunities, the doors of your ministry, are getting opened today. The closed doors of your business centres are going to be opened. And God is opening the doors for your higher education too. You shall shine in the future. God will answer your prayers.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for answering the long pending prayer of Zacharias. You will answer our prayers too . We thank you for this assurance. Lord we pray that you will open the doors that are closed in our life. Help us to believe and have faith when we pray that the Lord will answer our prayers according to his will.
