My dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Today the special word of God for you is taken from the book of James 5:16, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.’’
From the above verse we learn that the prayer of the righteous availeth much. The prayer of the righteous person is very powerful and effective. God immediately listens to the prayer of the righteous. The prayer of the righteous is strong and powerful and is useful to several other people. It is beneficial to many others and also performs miracles to others, that is what this verse conveys to us. So the prayer of the Righteous will have energy and faith, and belief. There will be firmness and God’s word will be proclaimed through the prayer. The power of God will be there. It is not an ordinary prayer, but a fervent prayer. That day, Bartimaeus a blind beggar, cried out to God saying, “The Son of David” and this was his prayer. But it was not heard by God. So he cried out all the more. Until yesterday you have been praying. But hereafter you need to pray all the more fervently. His first prayer was not heard by God. But when he cried out much louder, which shows his earnestness, in getting what he wanted. So his prayer was heard and he was healed of his blindness. He cried out with great hope, God heard his cry and answered his prayers.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Jesus asked Bartimaeus what was his request and he said, “I need sight.” The Lord immediately granted his request. The miracle happened at the spot. So what we learn from here is that, “The prayer of the righteous person, is powerful and effective’’ which means it works miracles and is useful to you. So your prayer must be in such a way, so as to evoke the feelings of God not only to answer your prayers but to work miracles and be useful for you. The person who prays should be righteous, should be pure and holy. Then God accepts their prayers.
Secondly you need to pray fervently. When these two things combine together then it produces an answer from God. Then your prayer will be answered. The former portion of the verse says, confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another that you may be healed. Therefore before you come for prayer, make yourself perfect, and holy in the presence of God. Make yourself a righteous person. Then you pray fervently. God will hear your prayer. Until yesterday you may not have followed this method of prayer pattern. Since you did not follow this method, your prayer has not been answered, good things have not happened. There is continuous, failures, continuous debts, continuous court cases; all wealth has gone away, lost your name and fame. So hereafter God will bring an end to all this and help you to live an abundant life.
Prayer: Lord, we thank You. Lord I bless all the children who are reading this message in the name of Jesus. Lord I pray that you will change all the sisters and brothers to be more righteous that they may walk in righteousness. Make them to have a desire to be righteous. Forgive their sins, wrong doings, wickedness, and all the evil works in which they are engaged and help them to forgive all those who have wronged them in their lives and remove all bitterness from them so that their sins will also be forgiven. Grant them to have the spirit of intense
prayer with much faith. May they inherit this attitude of praying fervently. Let such spirit dwell in the heart and mind of the children. May they understand that it is prayer that causes victory in their life. May they have a steady mindset. Thank You Lord for opening al the closed womb and causing them to bring forth children and for blessing them.
