THE REAL TRANSFORMATION - Bro. T. Stephen

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Luke 19:10, “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

We learn from the above context that Christ came into this world to seek and to save that which was lost. Many of us have lost many things in our life, in recent time. We started with much hope that we would do better in life, but unfortunately things didn’t happen the way we thought it would be. Some of you have lost your job while others have lost your beloved ones. Some of you have lost your business, while others have lost your good health. You have been trapped in fear and anxiety, regarding your future.   But be encouraged in the Lord because in spite of all this God assures that He came to seek and to save that which was lost. God will make it possible for you to get back all that you have lost in life. Moses while leading the people of Israel cries out to God saying, “Lord make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, and the years, in which we have seen evil.” God will surely make you glad according to the days of your affliction. He will change your sorrow into joy.

You should have a desire to see “who Jesus is” if you need to get back all that you have lost in your life. Those who desire to see Jesus like Zacchaeus, will be ready to break through all opposition and take any pains to see him. He had lost his peace. He was an important, chief tax collector. But he was hated by the Jews and despised by the Romans. Because he earned money through wrong means, people considered him as a thief.  He was rich and wealthy. But he had no peace of mind. He heard that Jesus was passing through Jericho.   He wanted to see “who Jesus was”, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him, since Jesus was coming that way. We must know that he who has a mind to see and know Christ, is known of Him. Jesus knew the mind of Zacchaeus.  And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And Zacchaeus made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And when people saw it, they all murmured, saying, “that Jesus has gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner.”As soon as Jesus entered his house he was reminded of all his wrong doings and also that he had wrongfully taken money from others because he had been a tax collector.

Zacchaeus   stood before the Lord and said unto the Lord:  Behold, Lord, I will give to the poor; the half of my goods and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I will restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, “This day salvation is come to this house,” for so much as he also is a son of Abraham.   For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.  Immediately   Zacchaeus obtained his lost peace. He had the desire to see Jesus, he took an effort to see “who Jesus was,” and therefore Jesus Himself, willingly came into his house and brought Salvation into his house. Zacchaeus publically   admitted that he had become a true servant of Christ. He does not require justification, because of his good works like the Pharisee. But through the grace of God and sincerity of his faith he received Salvation. He had turned to God from sin, so he became a happy man.

When Christ comes into your house He brings free gift of   Salvation along with Him. Seeing Zacchaeus on the tree, Jesus   did not ignore him or condemn him of his wrong doings. Instead He went with him to his house. And His entry into his house brought a great change in the life of Zacchaeus.  Jesus had been preparing the heart of this wealthy tax collector. For God is able to discern the motives of every man.  Receive Jesus into your heart, into your house, then He will transform your lives and he will help you get back all that you have lost in your life. God is waiting for you, to invite Him into your heart. Don’t worry about the loss you have incurred in your life. God can replace the loss, and help you get back all that   you have lost in your life. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly, above all that you ask or think or pray for.  Where Christ comes He brings Salvation. This is the day of salvation. God Bless you.

Prayer:  Our   loving    heavenly   Father, we thank   You   for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for bringing Salvation into the house of Zacchaeus. Lord we are glad to know that you understand our heart, our mind and our intention. You Know, what we are thinking about. So knowing the desire of Zacchaeus you went into his house. His attitude towards money changed. He regained peace and happiness by returning the money to the people from whom he had taken more than necessary. Change us like him to do the right thing. Bring Salvation into our homes.

In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen.
