My dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us draw encouragement from the Word of the Lord. From the book of Psalms 146:9, we read: “The Lord watches over the strangers. He relieves the fatherless and the widows.”
Today, you might be feeling as if no one cares for you, as if no one is there to lift you up. You may think that if your father were here, he wouldn’t have left you in this state. You may believe that if your father were here, he would have provided a home for you, or found you a job. You might even feel that if your mother were here, she would have prayed fervently and helped you settle down by now. If you are feeling abandoned like an orphan, remember this: God is stepping into the place of your father and mother. What the Lord will do for you is beyond what your parents could ever do, and it will be far greater. Trust in His provision and care, for He is always with you, delivering and comforting.
Your reflection on Joseph’s story is deeply moving. It highlights the powerful message of how God’s faithfulness and justice are at work even in the most challenging circumstances. Joseph’s journey from being sold into slavery and imprisoned to becoming a leader in Egypt shows that God’s plans can transform our darkest moments into times of profound blessing. Joseph’s story teaches us that despite facing immense trials and having no visible support, God’s timing and provision are perfect. His refusal to sin and his faithfulness amidst temptation were key factors in his eventual elevation. This story encourages us to trust in God’s ability to bring us out of our troubles and to remain steadfast in our commitment to righteousness, knowing that God’s plans for us are greater than we can imagine.Your call to run away from sin and seek God’s rebuilding in our lives resonates powerfully. It’s a reminder that God not only helps us through our trials but also transforms us into something greater, much like He did with Joseph.
Prayer: Dear Lord, We thank You for Your endless grace and provision. Please remember the fatherless and widows, and rise up to support them. Provide for their needs as only You can, and let Your will be done in their lives. Just as You provided for Ruth, who was a widow, and gave her a new beginning, we ask that You do the same for Your children. Build their lives with Your justice and impartial love.
In Jesus’ Name, we pray.Amen.
