I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has kept for you today is from the book of Proverbs 15:6, “In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, But in the revenue of the wicked is trouble.”
From the above passage we learn that, “A righteous man enjoys a happy and quiet life with more than necessities supplied, but a wicked man has adversity and suffering even while he seems to be successful in the outside world. Inner joy that is within the heart enables the righteous to be outwardly cheerful, even amid afflictions because they fear God and love others, they are truly contented even though not wealthy. Those who bring joy to others can be assured of God’s goodness to them but God opposes those who plot evil and use their positions of power to exploit the poor and the defenceless A cheerful face, like good news, brings refreshment to others. Again the book records that to gain wisdom, people must be willing to learn, be reverent towards God and humble in spirit.
In the revenues of the wicked there is trouble: though he may obtain great revenues, yet they are attended with much trouble and vexation; either because they are strangely blasted and taken from others, or because they are embittered to them by their own insatiable desires. They are often tormented by the cares and fears, or the horrors of their guilty consciences, The wicked have much trouble in getting their riches, by which they pierce themselves through, with many sorrows; they have much trouble in keeping them; cannot rest nor sleep because of their abundance, lest it should be taken away from them; and they have much trouble in parting with them, when they are, by one providence or another, stripped of them; and, besides, they have them with a curse, and are ever attended with uneasiness, on one account or another. The Bible says, “Blessings are on the head of the Righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.”
In the house of the righteous is much treasure. God sometimes blesses the righteous with great riches, as he did Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Even Solomon and his father David were blessed with glory, honour and riches. Even Job was a wealthy man during his times. However, it is better than the riches of many wicked; because they have, what they have with a blessing, and they are content with it: and they have abundance of spiritual treasure; they have God for their portion; Christ, and all good things along with Him; the rich graces of the Spirit; a rich experience of the grace of God. To those of you reading this message, I urge you to apply the character of the righteous. If you are a righteous person then your house will be blessed. For the treasure earned through honest means will give you peace and happiness. Be true to your employer under whom you work. Or be honest in the business you do. Never do business with wrong items like liquor, cigarette, and other stuff that would displease God. Be loyal to those who work under you. Never accumulate work pressure on them. God is watching you all the time. Be kind, be generous, then God will prosper you and your family. For the Bible says, “what you sow is what you will reap.” God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Father God, thank You for telling us to be righteous rather than be like the wicked. Help us to walk in wisdom, with much understanding and discretion. Teach us to be content with the blessings of God and not earn through wrong means. Create in us a clean heart, renew a right spirit within us. Make us to choose that which is pleasing and right in the sight of God.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
