Dearly Beloved, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Exodus 25:8, “ Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them.”
God chose the people of Israel to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all people, and he wanted to be their King. He ordered a royal palace to be set up among them for himself, called a sanctuary, or holy place, or habitation. There he showed his presence among them. He said, “I will be their God and they shall be My people and I will be in the midst of them. And because in the wilderness they dwelt in tents, this royal palace was ordered to be a tabernacle, that it might move with them. The people were to provide Moses all the necessary materials for the construction of the Tabernacle, by their own free will. Whatever they gave, they must give it cheerfully, not grudgingly, for God loves a cheerful giver, God wanted to live always, in the midst of the Children of Israel. And so God wanted the Tabernacle to be built in the midst of the people to facilitate the relationship between Yahweh and His children, where every person can go to elevate himself or herself spiritually.
God tells Moses his intention in general, that the children of Israel should build him a sanctuary, for he wanted to dwell among them. For , though there were altars and groves used for religious worship before this, yet there never was any house, or temple, built for sacred uses in any nation before this tabernacle was erected by Moses. As their King, God had already given them laws for the government, and their dealings one with another, with some general rules for religious worship, also .
The tabernacle contains an inner sanctuary, the Holy of Holies. This sanctuarycontained the Ark of the Covenant, with its cherubim-covered mercy seat. The people needed to learn that it was Yahweh who was camping with them. As the Israelites marched in the wilderness, the Levites would disassemble the Tabernacle, and, the ark would be carried by the priests, on two poles and would lead them as they went, with the glory cloud hovering over them. The people of God were to realize that they were pilgrims here and when God said move, they needed to move forward. Thus Yahweh went before them through the wilderness, leading them to the land of Canaan, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Here the Tabernacle represents the God of Israel Himself. He chose the nation Israel for His own purpose. He says, “ The people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise. They are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that they should show forth the praises of him who hath called them out of darkness into his marvellous light.” God says, “’ I will give them a heart, to know, that I am the Lord, and they shall be My people. And I will be their God. for they shall return to Me with their whole heart. ”God expects each one of you reading this message to return to Him with your whole heart. He knows your pain , your agony and the problems that you go through especially during this quarantine period. Some of you have lost your jobs, some have lost your loved ones. You seem to be grief stricken. But with God you can restore all that you have lost in life. He will mend your ways and straighten your crooked paths.
God will make way for you where there seems no way. For He will go before you, and break in pieces the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of Iron. God will open rivers, in desolate heights andfountains in the midst of the valleys. He will make the wilderness a pool of water. And the dry land springs of water. He will direct all your ways. So He wants to be present in the midst of you. Will you allow this God to reign in your heart.? He says, All these days, you have asked nothing, in My name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full. Why don’t you ask God to come into your heart? Because when God comes inside of you, there will be a great transformation, a revival in your life. He will change your sorrow and into joy. He will cause your mourning into dancing. Make God the Tabernacle of your life. And experience real joy in your life. He is a God of Promise He will neither forget you nor forsake you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You for being in the midst of us. Help us to see God seated in all His glory in the Tabernacle. Teach us to give unto the Lord freely without grudgingly. Help us to receive His abundant blessings.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
