SEEK GOD & COMMIT YOUR WAYS - Bro. T. Stephen

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book Job : 5:8,9 “But as for me I would seek God and to God I would commit my cause. Who does great things, and unsearchable, marvellous things without number.”

From the above context we learn that God expects us to commit ourselves wholly in the hand of God when we go through trials and tribulation. And this is what Job did in his life. We see how, when Job reached the peak of his sufferings, says, “Then I will submit myself, to God.”And through his testimony we learn a good lesson from this part of the scripture. God has said, “In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

As long as we exist in this world, there will be problems, trials, and temptations, in your life. Sometimes these problems can overwhelm and increase to a greater level and cause misery in your life. In that situation God asks you to submit yourselves, and your problems to the Lord. Therefore just surrender, your cases   however big they might be, into the hands of God. We see that Job patiently waited on the Lord, during the time of his tribulation. The scripture says, Job spoke very maturely and wisely. For this is the time that the children of God should guard their tongue. And we need to guard our faith at this period of time when we go through affliction.  We need to walk trusting in the Lord all the time. Like Job you should lean on the Lord during the time of your tribulation.

In the midst of trouble Job depended upon the Lord his God. That is why even when his wife rebuked him and said, ” Curse God and die.”He said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women, speaks. Shall we indeed accept, good from God, and shall we not, accept adversity. “In spite of all his misery and woe, Job did, not sin with his lips, or charge God with wrong. Because he fully knew that after the trial period, he will see good days, of prosperity and joy. He knew well that an end will come to all his problems. That is why he says, “I will wait all the days, of my hard service, till my change comes.”He was very confident that his period of trial and tribulation will change. He knew that   even if God causes wounds, He will surely bind his wounds.

Many of you who are reading this message may have been wounded, by others. They may be your neighbours, relatives or your own siblings or your children. Satan often attacks you through these people. It is hard to trace your foe or   identify the reason for their cruel dealings with you. You might have endured unknowingly all the sufferings. Some might have stabbed you at the back. You might have done much good to them but they might have caused severe damage to you. You may have been ridiculed, criticised, betrayed or mocked by many people. You might have become the song and the proverb of the people. You have become sick of your life.  Today God is saying, “Surrender your problems to Me.”Surrender your debts to Me no matter how great/big,  it might be. Hand over all your cases to Me. Surrender your children unto Me.  I will solve all your problems. I will help you. Increase your faith in God when you go through trials and temptation. Lean on God at all times.  Then He will deliver you and also rescue you from all your troubles. May the Lord help you to walk in wisdom and fear of the Lord and help you to submit your problems unto the Lord. God Bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord  we thank you for teaching us through the life of Job,  to wait upon the Lord and to surrender all our problems to Him.  May we be like Job in character.  Teach us not to react foolishly but to deal wisely in all circumstances.  No matter how hard the situation might be but help us to rely on the Lord,   during the time of affliction. Help us to depend upon God for all our needs.

In   Jesus name we pray

Amen.
