My Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On this day, the 5th of September, It is a great pleasure to meet you all at your home through this auspicious message. May the Lord Bless you all. This morning the whole world is celebrating Teachers Day. On this day while you are reading this message, we also will remember our teachers and thank the Lord for them. The teachers work in Pre, KG, in the primary section, in the middle school, high school, and higher secondary school. The professors and lecturers who taught us in our college days, We shall think of them and thank the Lord for their hard work and service rendered to us. They have been the pillars of our life. They have been instruments who molded our characters. We should not forget that they have been a strong support to your growth. On this particular day I remember Father George Oomen, who guided me in my spiritual life. He was not only the headmaster of our school but also the parish priest of our church. I remember the days as a young boy when I stayed in his house and have grown up to this stage. And I thank the Lord on behalf of him. Today you think of all those teachers and Gurus and thank the Lord for them. Now what is the auspicious word of God that the Lord has given for you today? Let’s read from the book of Isaiah 48:17, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should walk.”
Once a brother and sister came to see me for prayer and counseling. The man had come a bit drunk. He came due to the pressure of his wife. She had said, “ Brother has given appointment therefore you must come.” So as there was no other way he came to meet me. He had said to her,” You should have told me at least before going to the wine shop.” He said, it would smell if I come into his room. But she said, “ Never mind that does not matter.” So in this manner she somehow forced and brought him to meet me.” So he took all kinds of remedy to see that there was no wine smell in the room. He had eaten chewing gum and other good smelling ingredients, to prevent his mouth from smelling. But once he entered into the ac room there was distinct smell from him. But I made them to be seated. There was a constant fear in his face. He was thinking, well we have come to this place. We have come to a holy place. This thought was within him all the time. He was blessed as the master of a Higher secondary school.
His wife began to talk about him. See how he has come fully drunk even to this place. He is a master who has to teach good things but look how he has come drunk. It is because of him that I came here for this counseling session. And she began to say many things about him. He was sitting very silently. He was a good man a good master. So don’t think that all those who drink are bad people. There are many good characteristic in them beyond this. But this little bad habit has ruined their life. So I began to speak to that brother. But he said, “ I want to give up this bad habit but I am not able to .” I who am a teacher who is supposed to teach good principles to the students, it is a disgrace for me and my profession that I am addicted to this bad habit of drinking. He knows that what he is doing is absolutely wrong. He further said that he is unfit to be a master. And he began to speak all about his character or bad habit so troubled in his mind, and he was very touched in his heart and mind. So God told him, At least on this day, that you have got this opportunity, it would be better if you search for the truth and righteousness. It would be better if you make an attempt to be at peace at least during this opportunity. He asked me one question. “What is the link or relation between drinking and peace?” God told him that when you drink it will be a boost for a while later it will rise up like the cobra, a poisonous snake. It will spoil you and once you reach your home then it will affect all the persons in the family because of this bad habit. So God said look for that which is peaceful at least in this opportunity. He further said that all are going here and there, in search of relief. And they think that drinks will give some sort of relief. So they go in search of drinks. But by drinking, the peace of children is gone, and the peace of the wife is gone. All suffer because when one drinks in the family and you spoil all the peace of the people in the family. The words spoken to him hurt like the sting of the scorpion. Next moment he began to cry. Then he admitted that he was drinking to get some relief, but now he realized that others in the family are losing their peace and happiness because of him. He regretted that for his momentary pleasure he was causing chaos and confusion to all the members of his family including his parents and children. How many of you are willing to ask God to teach you that which is profitable and are willing to humble themselves before God. If you submit, others will gain relief. Others will enjoy peace. In case you have been an obstruction for the peace of others today you repent of your wrong doing and ask God to forgive you and lead you in the way you should walk. God will help you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, We thank You. Lord, I pray and bless all the children who are reading this message. Lord today we think of all the teachers and masters and all the gurus who taught us what is profitable for us in our lives. We thank the Lord for them. In case they are alive or if they have gone to rest in the presence of God, Lord we pay respect to them for their good service. And we thank the Lord for blessing us through them. Lord above all the subjects and earthly knowledge, you have said, “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should walk.” The Lord teaches us what is necessary and profitable each day of our life. and lead us in the way we should walk. We should never be an obstruction to anyone. Lord so those who are reading this message none of them should be an obstruction or causing pain to others. They should not cause any pain or damage to others. Help them to make others happy and joyful. I pray and bless all the children, Let them live , let them speak and let them walk in truth. They should not be those who spoil the peace of others. For their personal relief and joy if they are spoiling the peace and harmony of others, if anyone is in this situation, Lord let them pray and ask God to help them to accept the teachings and laws of God and correct themselves. And may they obey the word of God, and as a result let them receive great blessings in their lives.
