And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also, the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” (Job 42:10).
The Lord proclaimed this about Job, “there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” (Job 1:8). Even satan was jealous over Job’s righteousness. He had to take permission from God to test Job. Satan struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. And he took for himself a piece of broken pottery to scrape himself while he sat in the midst of the ashes. Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!” (Job 2:9). He lost all his property and all his children in one day. In all this Job did not sin nor blame God. He just said,”The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21,22). Now when Job’s three friends heard of all his adversity that had come upon him, they came to mourn with him, and to comfort him. When they saw him, they did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven. So, they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great (Job 2:12,13).
How did Job get deliverance from this grief? He longed for the freedom from all his problems, a change from his current misery. Even amidst all his grief he prayed for the welfare of his friends. God had mercy on Job and gave him twice as much as he had before. God blessed Job’s later life even more than his earlier life. He blessed him with abundance of livestock. The Bible says no women in all the land were as beautiful as Job’s daughters (Job 42:15).
A 26-year-old brother had written a letter of testimony. Due to some problems at work, he was fired. Totally distraught over this he consumed acid. They rushed him to the hospital, but every hospital they took him refused to admit him owing to his condition. Finally, one hospital accepted him but only after they took an undertaking that the hospital won’t be held responsible if he dies while giving treatment. It so happened that as soon as he was admitted in this barely alive condition this brother and his family were able to watch on “Subavaarthai TV” the program “Anbarin Kural”. Immediately the brother contacted our prayer tower by phone. A Telugu speaking prayer warrior prayed earnestly with tears for the brother. The same doctor, who had given up all hope on the brother’s survival, gave the assurance that they would save him. But he couldn’t give the assurance that he would speak. To everyone’s amazement he was perfectly healed after the treatment was finished.
Generally, when a person consumes acid, he will surely die. But God did a miracle for him when the prayer warriors interceded on his behalf and gave him back his life. Hallelujah!
Dearly beloved, are you filled with anguish facing adversity and anxious about your future? Have you been tearfully waiting endlessly at the Lord’s feet for a miracle? Delayed hope makes the heart sick, but fulfilled desire is a tree of life (Proverbs 13:12). This is your appointed time of fulfillment for all your requests and supplications. The same God who who removed Job’s misfortune and gave him twice as much as he had before is close to you! When you delight yourself in Him, He will fulfill all your desires and wipe away all your tears! Do not be worried!
Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we are grateful to You for Your mercies. Because of Your mercies we are not consumed. Help us to receive our blessings at Your appointed time. In Jesus Name We Pray.
