I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Lamentation 3:22,23, “Through the Lords Mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great Is Your faithfulness”.
From the above context we understand that it is because of God’s grace that we are not consumed. We are alive. We live because of His grace. From the above verse we learn about God’s unfailing love. We see how Prophet Jeremiah’s thoughts are about God. God changes despair to hope when he thinks that, even in the darkest times, God is faithful and will not cast off His people forever. Every day, every morning, God shows His mercy and compassion.
Firstly the Lord’s “great love” abides even in times of trouble and divine judgment. Secondly God’s unfailing compassion is God’s withholding of a just punishment. The Bible says, Lord has pity on His suffering children; in fact, His mercies are new every morning. Jeremiah’s statement that God’s mercies are “new every morning” is related to the statement that follows: “Great is your faithfulness” God is unchanging, and His mercies toward Israel were unfaltering.
We thus realize that we are not consumed because of God’s grace. Satan is always trying all his efforts to destroy our peace joy and harmony in life. He is trying for an opportunity to destroy us completely. But the Lord has preserved our lives from his wicked schemes. The Bible says, the thief (Satan) does not come except to steal and to kill, and to destroy, but God came into this world to give us life and that we may have life, more abundantly. Satan does not want us to live in peace. He keeps creating new problems each day for us that we might fall and perish.
Satan has several plans to destroy us and He keeps implementing them upon us that we may fall into his snare. But God on the other hand is protecting us by His grace and mercy, from all the wicked plans of Satan. We see many who started off with us in the beginning of this year are no more with us. But if we are still alive, it is because of God’s sheer grace. It is God’s compassion that has preserved our lives. God wants to destroy all the evil works of Satan, and rescue us from His cruel hands.
We battle each day, with the works of the evil spirit on one side and the evil schemes and plans of our own kith and kin, Our friends and relatives who pretend to be so good on the outside, but keep working against us to see our fall. They are constantly working against us. They don’t like us doing well in our life like the Satan. They spurn us at times and cause wounds and hurt that remains as scars in our hearts and this damages our spirit and prevents our progress in our life. They indirectly work against us or hinder the progress of our children. They remain as invisible foes all through the course of our life. We are compelled to live in the midst of these foes throughout our lives. But we never ever realize that we are surrounded by foes. We are supposed to live and sustain ourselves in the midst of these people. But the Lord through His Mercies has not consumed us, for His compassions fail not. They are new every morning and Great Is His faithfulness.
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. So don’t be afraid to face the challenges that confront you in life. Be bold in the Lord, Rejoice in the Lord always. Thank Him even in times of difficulty and He will change your sorrow into joy. He will change your shame into honour. He will comfort you and increase you on every side. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You, for Your compassion that fail not and your Mercy which is new every morning. Thank You Lord for protecting us from the cruel hands of Satan and also from the wicked schemes that work against our progress in our life by our own friends and relatives. Keep us, as the apple of Your eye. May we enjoy the favour and assurance of God each day in our life.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
