I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Hosea 14:2, “Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to him: “Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.”
From the above context we see an appeal to the people of Israel, by prophet Hosea, calling for their repentance. The prophet not only bids them to return, but he also tells them what to speak to God. And we see the response of God, to the people of Israel saying, that if they obey the call of God, spoken through the voice of the Prophet Hosea, God will graciously forgive them. The People of Israel lived among the heathen people. They were surrounded by the Canaanites, the Philistines, Babylonians, and therefore they began to worship the strange Gods like the Balaam, called Baal and the Ashtoreth. Therefore the God of Israel, Yahweh was displeased with His chosen people. God states that He will withdraw from his people until they admit their guilt and return to Him. Hence Hosea, advises them saying, “Take with you words, and return to the Lord, and say to him: Take away all iniquity. And receive the good: and we will render the praises of our lips.”
By offering their praises and worship they will show that they have put away from them all that displeases God. They decided to forsake all other strange Gods and return to Yahweh, the God of Israel. And also they decided not to consider the work of their hands as their Gods. They will no longer seek the help of other nations like Assyria or the Philistine or the Canaanite or worship their Gods anymore.
To those of you reading this message I would like to tell you that Idol worship also indicates your desire for something more than God Himself. Many worship the creations of God rather than worshipping the true and living God. Some may desire to make a better life by acquiring wealth through bribe or through wrong means of income. They grab others land property by issuing wrong documents. Others may be interested in soaring high in status, through wrong means. Craving for something by hook or by crook is idol worship. God wants such people to repent of their sins and return to God.
If you desire to return back to this living God then His wrath against you will be turned away. He will heal you of your disease. He will rejuvenate your lives. May be until yesterday you had been a failure. But from today you will witness a great change in the development of your lives. You will receive a promotion in your work spot. Your long pending court case will come to an end in favour of you. Your children, who were waiting to be settled all these years, will soon settle in life. God will expand the borders of your territory in your business, in your financial status, when you make a decision to return to God with all your heart. Will you surrender your life to Jesus? Will you obey His commandments and walk in His ways and give up all the idols of this world? Then you shall be blessed. The Blessings are on the head of the righteous. The Blessings of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow to it. May the Lord help you to make the right choice. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. We praise You Heavenly Father, for giving us an opportunity to repent of our sins and return to You Oh! Lord. Help us to give up all our idols that we most desire and serve you with our whole Heart. May the Blessings of God be upon us.
