Love Your Children - Bro. T. Stephen

My dear Brothers   and sisters   in Christ,   I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of Luke 18:16, “But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”

My dear Brothers and Sisters, Our God is a loving God.  What does the Lord God require from you? But to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and love Him and to serve the Lord your  God with all your heart  and with all your soul. God similarly expects us to love one another as He has loved us.  God has blessed every individual with certain gifts.  No one can say that God has not given any gifts to you. Especially with regards to your children. One child may be good in studies another may not be good in studies that doesn’t mean that you should support the one and avoid the other.

Parents  usually  prefer the children who do well in their studies and neglect the dull children. The child may not be good in studies but he may be good in the technical side or in the business line. You should  trace out the hidden gifts in your child and try to guide them in the right track so that they feel comforted during the course of their education. Never compare your children with other children. Don’t discourage them in any way, rather encourage them in their studies.  Some parents curb their interest and try to infuse in their minds their  own views and ideas. Thus refusing to give them the necessary freedom of choice.

Jacob loved Joseph the son of his old age. He gave him a coat of many colours.  But the other brothers were jealous of him. We should not be the cause for our children to be either jealous or selfish. We should help them to grow in a healthy atmosphere so that they may develop a better personality.

Dear  Brothers and Sisters, we generally notice that some of the parents are partial to their children.  We should realize that God shows no partiality. The Bible clearly says, for there is no partiality with God. Therefore show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. However when we show partiality or respect of persons   we have allowed evil thoughts  to  compromise our judgement. May God help us to correct ourselves and love our children for what they are irrespective of their capability.  God has created angels of unique power. Angels are appointed by God to attend on His children. God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways. These angels give  report  about our activities  to God.  So we are accountable to God for our doings  be it good or bad.  May God help you to walk in wisdom.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank  You for this blessed day.  Lord help us to walk in wisdom and in the fear of God. May we be  loving to our children. Help us  not  to be partial in our dealings with regarding to our children. May we treat them alike and guide them in their daily walk of life.  Be it in  their studies or in any field they undertake.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
