My dear Brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of, John 10:9 “I am the Door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved. And will go in and out and find pasture.”
The above context actually refers to the sheep and the shepherd. There are many false shepherds in this world and they considered Jesus as an imposter. A sheep needs man’s care and in return they lend service to man. In order to protect the sheep from the wolves and other wild animals, they had their sheep folds or sheep farm within the backyard of their houses for the safety of the flocks. The sheepfold lies much exposed to thieves and robbers. The shepherd safeguards the sheep from the cruel hands of such thieves and robbers. The sheep hears the voice of his shepherd and enters the door of the sheepfold and are therefore safe. They go in and out under the watchful eyes of the shepherd and are led to green pastures where they find food and rest.
According to the above reference, each one must enter through Jesus. Because He is the only door to heaven. All those who believe in Christ will be saved. And their souls are safe and secure. Jesus is the protector of the sheep. He saves from both sin and damnation; people will be saved from the means and the end. This is the result of being saved. Jesus will provide daily needs for the spiritual sustenance of believers. They will be nourished and refreshed. Beyond salvation of the soul, those who enter eternal life by Christ will have access to God’s operating assets. Salvation means, that the believer will be sustained in the daily routine of everyday living the life that God gives. The term “ pasture”refers to plenty. God’s sheep will find lush, green pastures for their nourishment. God’s people will find many divine provisions beyond salvation itself. Jesus provides divine operating assets for life with God.
We are living in a dangerous world. Any where we turn, we are surrounded with horrible disease. Cancer, heart attack , Diabetes, Arthritis, Corona and so on. There is a question that rises in our minds. Who will save me from this situation? There is no remedy for certain disease and even before we could diagnose the disease the person dies of illness. Such is the state of our current life.
That is why God says, I am the door. I alone am the healer. I am the one who sustains you. Anyone who enters the door will be saved, will be healed. Take Jesus along with you where ever you go. He will never fail you nor forsake you. God wants to protect us from the adversary the devil, that walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. We are likely to meet with accidents, disease and many such dangers. God does not want to put us to shame. The sheep fold represents the church. When one enters the church he will be saved. One must realize that Jesus is the door of the kingdom of God. Anyone who enters through the door will be rescued. He will be saved from sin, curse and condemnation, from wrath to come and would be kept safe in the hands of God. Then no one can pluck them/you out of his hand. May the Lord help you to enter the door and be safe. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly, Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you Lord for assuring us with your hand of protection. Thank you for preserving our lives, from sickness, from disease, and from causing shame. We thank you for protecting us from accidents and many such dangers. Teach us to enter the church and be saved. Please help us to enter the door through Jesus and be safe.
In Jesus Name we pray.
