My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Genesis 31:1,3 “And he heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father’s; and of that which was our father’s hath he gotten all this glory. And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. And the Lord said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.”
The Lord whom we worship is the Lord who fulfils whatever He says, He is the Lord who does not go away from us until whatever He had spoken in the past has been fulfilled in our lives. For what He speaks by His mouth He fulfils through His hands. We see that God had already met Jacob and had spoken to him. He had also blessed him. He said to Jacob “I am with you, I will protect you in the place where you go to settle or survive.”He said, I will bless the work of your hands. You shall earn well become wealthy and also return to your Fathers place. And he will not leave him until He had, fulfilled His promise. God was faithful in His word. Likewise Jacob went to his uncle Laban’s house in Paddan Aram and made his living. He worked under his uncle very sincerely and increased day by day. Though his wages were changed ten times, he endured patiently in his uncles place until the Lord directed his future.
Just as God had instructed him he went to his uncles place for his living. But one day Jacob heard the words of Laban’s sons, saying, “Jacob has taken away all that was our father’s, and from what was our father’s he has acquired all this wealth.” And Jacob saw the countenance of Laban, and indeed it was not favourable toward him as before. Truly Jacob had not taken anything that belonged to Laban. Rather, it was that his wealth was increasing in proportion to Laban’s wealth.
Envy will distort the truth. Jacob had not taken anything of Laban’s, but he was falsely accused. The envy of Laban’s sons poisoned Laban’s heart against Jacob. Though previously Laban was entirely pleased with the agreement with Jacob . For he had prepared a business partnership with his uncle. Envy is bad not only on its own, but also for the company it keeps:
So God told Jacob to return to the Promised Land or back to his fathers place. Even though Jacob never knew it, God prepared him for this time. First, God gave him the desire to go back home. Then, his present circumstances became unbearable. Finally, the LORD gave personal direction to Jacob. Today, God may lead you too after the same pattern. God said to him, “And I will be with you. This was the most important aspect. If God were with Jacob, he could be at peace and confident in any difficult situation.
So Jacob called his wives Rachel and Leah to the field, to his flock, and said to them, “I see your father’s countenance, that it is not favorable toward me as before; but the God of my father has been with me. And you know that with all my might I have served your father. Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me. But the God of my father has been with me: Jacob not only believed that he had acted properly toward Laban, but he also believed that his wives knew of his righteous conduct and Laban’s unfair treatment of him.
When God wants to implement His plan, in your life, certain confusion and doubts might arise. God knows that only when there is pressure you would leave that place. The pressure mounting on you is an indication or sign that you need to leave that place. But when such signs happen in our lives we get scared. Some problem might arise in your work spot, then you begin to weep not knowing what to do. You might not know that God is working from behind.
Many such people caught up in a tight corner situation are reading this message . Only in such situation you need to be more cautious. You must remember that God is about to do something good for you. For nothing will happen to you without the knowledge of God. And you need to believe this truth. Well I wish to tell you to be aware that God’s presence is always there with you if you have lived an honest life like Jacob, in spite of the hard situation and the envy of his own uncle. He was successful . We see that Jacob crossed river Jordan with an empty hand and staff. But now he was a wealthy man with two companies. You will also be successful in your life if you fear the Lord and be sincere in everything you do. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we remain grateful to you for teaching us through this message that we need to be sincere like Jacob. Help us to be obedient to God’s word and act accordingly to His plan for a successful life. May we endure all our problems patiently, and face the challenges boldly. Make us prosperous.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
