My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of 2 Corinthians 8:9, “ For You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich yet for your sake, He became poor. ”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we learn that Apostle Paul in his letter, to the church in Corinth makes mention of the saints of Macedonia, about their concern and care for others. Because they freely gave to those who were in need. He therefore encourages the Corinthian saints, to help the poor. Paul also taught about the blessings that come to those who cheerfully give to the poor. Grace is God’s undeserved, unmerited goodness to us. By grace, God has saved us from the mouth of the grave and from being a slave to satan. Kindness and Mercy are the most beautiful acts possible to human being. The beauty of Jesus Christ is to draw you close to Him by His self giving love of Jesus. This is what grace is. There is no beauty like giving to others.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, It was grace that led God to send His only begotten son, to die on the cross, that no one should perish but have everlasting life. He loves you and therefore, He is not willing to see you perish. God knows the sinful nature of man. He knew how they had rebelled against His holy laws. He also knew that there were some men who responded to His love and would even give their lives for Him. They would willingly worship Him in truth and spirit. For their sakes, His grace was shown. The Bible says, Though He was rich He became poor. He emptied Himself. He was rich in the glory of the divine attributes, but He gave up His glory for a while and took our nature in all its poverty.
My Dear brothers and Sisters, God chose the lot of the poor, almost of the beggar. And this He did that men might see His life, of self surrender and be partakers with Him in the eternal wealth of the spirit, and find their treasure not only on earth but in heaven too. The Grace is all the more wonderful because of the majesty, and Sovereignty of the Lord. Grace is love that is shown to unworthy and transgressing recipients. For our sake the Lord Jesus “became poor” that He might lift you up into communion, with Himself.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Are you in tune with God? Is there an intimate closeness with God? Have you ever experienced the grace of God? To receive the blessings of God, you need to come out of all the things that
