I greet and bless you all in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The auspicious word of God that comes to you for today, is taken from the book of Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Our God says, in the above verse, that His word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path. The word of God is like the lamp to our feet and as the Light to our path. When one puts his foot on the road the word of God is like the light which shows, where the slush and mud is found on the road. Where there are thorns and thistles found on the road. Where there is a blockade and where there is a ditch are all seen because of the light that is the word of God that shines before the feet like the lamp. The light protects his feet from falling on the roadways. It is not only like the lamp but also like the light. The word of God is compared to both the lamp and the light to mankind. We have heard people say, “Don’t fall on the roadside, and take a torch with you.”So only if there is light a man can journey safely to his destination and not in the darkness. The Bible also says, “The blind can’t lead the blind. Because, both are in the dark and someone who has proper sight will be able to lead the blind. God very clearly says, that if you carry the word of God with you, wherever you go then you will be safe. That word will be like a light in the dark. Only if there is light you will be able to locate the well or pit or ditch, the word of God will guide you in the dark and warn you, so that you will be careful while walking on the road.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God will speak to you through His word. He will either direct your steps or warn you of the oncoming danger. He will alert you. May be you pray before leaving to that particular place and if there is going to be some kind of danger God will warn you and prevent you from going to that place.
In the wedding at Cana, the wine got over. The host who conducted the wedding was going to face shameful situation. People are going to criticise him as there was no wine for the people to be served. In that situation it was the word of God that caused the water which was poured into the jar, turn into wine. God sends His word and performs miracles. God commanded the disciples to fill the jar with pure water. Jesus said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, did not know where it came from, the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”So that was how the Lord performed the miracle by changing water into wine. As a result the newlywed couple were able to start their married life successfully and happily without any shame or dishonour. God thus enlightened their life. It was the word that lit their life. They were able to start their life peacefully. If God had not performed this miracle they would have been filled with shame and humiliation. Darkness would have set in, which is an indication of sin and destruction. But light is an indication of improvement, and progress in life. God is providing you a bright future. For this to happen, carry the word of God with you wherever you might go. Then the whole day the word will protect you in your going out and in your coming in, without any disruption. By doing so I believe that God will give you a bright future through His word. He will remove all fear and doubt from your heart.
Once a sister came to me as she was ill. Since she was advised by someone, to meet me for prayer she came up to me. She was healed after praying for her. I offered a Bible with good will. For many years she had never opened the Bible which I gave her. Yet she never opened the Bible. One day she happened to shift her place from one location to another. Then she happened to find the Bible which I had given her long time ago, while she was packing all her goods to move into another location. She dusted the Bible and kept it inside her bag. All packing was over. She set all things in the new house which she had newly taken for rent. And when she opened the bag and took out the Bible it accidently dropped down. I had given a Bible without a zip cover. So when it fell it separated into two. The woman picked it up and thought to herself, well that Evangelist gave this Bible out of great regard for me, but I had never read it before. So the verse that struck her eyes was about David giving gold and silver for the construction of the temple of God. Just then she was reminded of the bag she had forgotten to take from the old house, which contained her jewels. So she quickly rushed to the old house where she had lived previously, nearly 24 hours had gone by. She was wondering as to what she should do. Only now she had remembered that she had left behind all her jewels in a bag on the rack, so taking the Bible in her arms, she ran to her old house to see if she could retrieve her lost jewels.
She called up the broker, got the key and went to the old house. She took the broker to the house along with her saying that she had left behind a packet of goods on the rack. The broker told her that the house had not been cleaned after she had left. So both went in there and traced the bag of jewels which she had forgotten and had left behind. Later she narrated the story to me as how the Bible which I had given her reminded about the lost goods and how she recovered all her jewels which she had forgotten. She cried out to me saying that it was the Bible that helped her to get back her jewels. In this manner I can tell you number of such incidents that the Bible has done for people all around the world. So read and meditate on the word of God. For God will do great things in your life.
Prayer: Lord we thank You. I bless your children in the name of Jesus. Lord You have said, that the word of God will be a lamp to our feet and a light unto our path. So we thank you Father for your word. We thank You Lord for protecting your children from all danger and harm. May they honour Your word . Not only should they read the word of God but also, meditate upon the word, and walk according to its precepts. As a result may they be blessed in worldly sense, and enjoy all the goodness of God in their life, attain wealth and prosperity through the reading of God’s word. May they be blessed with the gift of children, and all other good gifts that God has provided for them. I bless them all who read this message in the matchless name of Jesus.
