Beloved children of God in Christ. I greet and bless you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Proverbs 31:30,31, “A woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.”
As we all know, today is International Women’s Day. To all the sisters reading this Today’s Word—Happy Women’s Day! May the Lord bless you abundantly.
You may be a mother, a wife, a sister, or a daughter. Today, the Lord promises to bless you and make you excel in praise, honor, and glory. According to today’s verse, “A woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” But in reality, earning a good name as a woman is often difficult. Some husbands deliberately avoid praising their wives, thinking, “If I praise her, she will become proud and stop respecting me.” As a result, they withhold the appreciation their wives rightfully deserve.
We should not have such an attitude. If God Himself praises women who fear Him, how much more should we honor and appreciate them? Today, the Lord reminds all men reading this—encourage your wife, mother, sister-in-law, or aunt. Learn to appreciate them for the good they do for you. The Lord has declared, “A woman who fears the Lord shall be praised,” and she will receive honor from others.
The next verse says, “Give her of the fruit of her hands,” meaning she should be rewarded for all the good she has done. Unfortunately, many men still do not show appreciation for the women in their lives, even on special occasions like Women’s Day, Mother’s Day, a wife’s birthday, or a wedding anniversary. But the Bible teaches us to honor women. Husbands should take the initiative to surprise your wives with gifts like on your salary day, Wedding Day or Birthday or at random moments. Even a small, thoughtful gift for your sister or mother can bring them immense joy.
Do not be someone who destroys your wife’s confidence or hurts her feelings. Instead, be an encouraging husband, brother, or son-in-law. Many husbands do not know how to treat their wives well because they have learned from fathers who mistreated their mothers. But do not repeat that cycle. Your wife is not a servant or a machine for bearing children—she is your partner. Respect her, value her, and encourage her. The Bible says, “A wise woman builds her home.” A strong, loving wife brings peace and happiness into the family. Honor the women in your life, for through them, God builds your home.
Testimony from Sister Hani, Chennai.
My name is Hani, and my husband’s name is Israel. Due to a problem, we lived separately for three and a half years. During this time, I was also burdened with arranging my 36-year-old sister’s marriage, which added to my sorrow. Before informing my husband, I called God’s Love Ministries for prayer. The prayer warrior prayed earnestly and counseled me. By God’s grace, when I met my husband, he responded with peace and love. My parents later invited him to the wedding, and he welcomed them warmly. Now, we are reunited and living peacefully. Praise be to God for restoring my family and blessing my sister’s marriage!”
This sister humbled herself and invited her husband to her sister’s wedding, and through this, their separation was healed, bringing great joy to the family. Not only did her husband attend and help conduct the wedding, but they also reunited in love. If anyone reading this is experiencing separation in their marriage, take a step of humility and reach out to your spouse. Trust in God, and surely, you will reunite and restore your family life.
