God’s Help - Bro. T. Stephen

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Psalm 66:5 , “Through You we will push down our enemies. Through Your name we will trample those who rise up against us.”

From the above context we see the sufferings of David, being vividly described, which says, “’Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads. We went through fire and through water” refers to the kind of trials and affliction he experienced in his life.

“ David  believed that  “Through God’s help  he  will push down his  enemies. And Through the Name of Jehovah, he will trample all those who rise up against him. ” David was one such person who relied on God and trusted Him for all his purpose. He was being chased by his own   uncle,   King Saul who gathered three thousand men to capture a single man.  God had disapproved Saul of being the king of Israel as he disobeyed God. The Bible says, (King Saul disguised himself and approached a woman (witch of  Endor) who was practicing witch craft to rise up  the Prophet Samuel who was dead. )

David was being chased by Saul and his army as one who hunts a partridge  in  the  mountains.  David was hiding among the hills and caves and mountains. And  God directed him to  escape to the temple of God. So He ran to the temple of God, there he sang  a  song, saying  “You have caused men to ride over our heads. We went through fire and through water; But You brought us out to rich fulfilment.”  He entered the temple of God singing and praising   God,   with burnt offering and paid his vows. He tells the Lord that he could not battle anymore against his enemies and surrenders to the God of Compassion. The moment he surrendered his life  (himself )  to God, the Lord began to fight for him.  While Saul was in the battle of Mount Gilboa,   he fell over his sword and killed himself.  Absalom, who rebelled against his father David, was killed during the battle of Ephraim’s Wood  against the Philistines. Soon after the death of King Saul and Absalom David established himself as the king of Israel and ruled for nearly forty years both   Israel and Judah.  David thus put down his enemies.

Many of you who are reading this message, may be   fed up of your lives.  Because of   your own    people, who is a constant threat to you.  They Search   for you,   to destroy you   and your children.   Some of them are trying to separate your children from you.  You have not found any justice for all your good deeds in your life. Therefore you have become vexed with your own self,   your own life. You don’t even   find any sign of justice being done to you. Though it looks as if there is no sign of justice   being done for you, a time will surely come when God will intervene and   do you justice. Everything, every situation, all the   people so close to you may seem to come against you all of a sudden. Yet God of   Compassion,  will come when you never expect Him and He will perform a miracle for you. He will turn everything in favour of you. Many may come against you. They come to spoil your peace joy, your happiness and cause menace in your life by probing into your family matters,   and endanger your own lives.  But the moment you call upon   Jesus Christ,   God will come to your aid and help you from all your difficulties.   He will change all things in favour of you.  So do not worry, but cast your burden upon the Lord,  for he will never allow the righteous to be moved,  instead,  He  will care for you. And will sustain you.  May the Lord do justice to you today.

Prayer:  Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day.   Lord we thank you for doing justice to David. Though he   struggled for his life yet in the end he emerged victorious. Likewise turn all things in favour of us, for we solely depend upon you for our sustenance. Prevent   our enemies from coming to our homes.  Give us the discernment to understand and avoid such intruders, who step into our homes to deliberately cause trouble to us.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
