My Dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May the name of the Lord be glorified. On this day March 19th, it is a great pleasure to meet you all at your home early in the morning through this auspicious message. May the grace of God lift you up, carry you and also protect you. May the Lord bless you all.
The auspicious word that comes for you today is taken from, 2 Samuel16:12, “It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction and that the Lord, will repay, me with good for his cursing this day.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Today it may be that someone without knowing what has happened to you, had made a complaint about you and blamed you. You are thinking that What does he know about me that he should charge me with such a complaint.” Without knowing any thing that happened to me he is going about complaining about me, You are so worried about this incident. God is giving you a counselling through this verse. After becoming a king, the king David was once walking his way. One man who was in favor of Saul, who had committed suicide, and had died. That man’s name was Shimei. Saul died by himself by falling over his own sword and committed suicide. Being filled with the evil spirit, he committed suicide. So many people without knowing anything about you may gossip or spurn or rebuke you without knowing the real fact about the incident.
Many of you may be suffering cruelty in this manner. Shimei thought that David was the cause of king Sauls death. So he cursed David who became the king after Saul. Shimei cursed David in bad language. He was from the house of Saul. He came out cursing David continuously. He also threw stones at David and his servants. He further said, “Come out, Come out, you blood thirsty man.” He called him as the son of Belial. Belial means a prostitute woman. He abuses David saying that he was the son of Belial. Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, Why should this dead dog curse my Lord the king? “ If it was us. We would hit him hard and try to kill him. But David, said, “It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction and that the Lord, will repay, me with good for his cursing this day.” Because of his humble attitude, God later calls David as a man near unto God’s own heart. Will we just spare someone so easily.
Especially if we are in the position of a king. Even if we will not harm someone, people from outside will urge us to do so. We should not have such habit of harming others. David said confidently that God will consider this evil behaviour of Shimei and change it as good for him. David said, “ He spoke evil words against me But God will change it for my good.” He called his guard, and asked him to come along with him and let Shimei alone, He said one day he will realize the truth. So in future if someone, hurts you even though you have been very sincere, or very harmless and yet if you are accused you, just move away from that place ignoring them, then you will avoid argument and further quarrel. God expects such people. So if you forgive them and move away calmly you are actually avoiding much trouble. Never take revenge on any one , for the wrong that someone has done to you. If you harm your enemy, then there will be no difference between you and your foe. So just forgive him and keep moving on in life. Then a day will come when God will consider you as one who is near unto His own heart . You will be praised by God. And this will be a blessing to you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we thank You. Lord today you have taught us a good lesson. Lord if any one abuses us without knowing anything about us, help us not to retort against them but to be silent and forgive them. Lord give a good heart to all those who are watching this program that they should not take revenge but that they should behave well and go away from that situation. Some have been badly affected because of this reason. They says, “He has spoken without knowing anything about me.” He has spoken so badly about me, how can I bear this? My brother had spoken like this against me. My sister has spoken like this about me. If someone else had spoken it would have been better. But my own husband has spoken like this about me. For such kind of children, who have been severely hurt, Lord I pray that you will listen and as David has said, “It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction and that the Lord, will repay, me with good for his cursing this day.” I pray and bless that just as David, had risen to that of a king of Israel, may all your children who have endured, much shame and humiliation, be risen high in their status, and enjoy royal dignity in their life also.
