God Has Plans for You - Bro. T. Stephen

Dearly Beloved, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Jeremiah 29:11 hua,”For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord, “they are plans for your welfare and good, and not for disaster. They are plans to give you a future and a hope. ”The above verse assures that God will shower us with only, success and blessings in life, but it is reassuring that God has a purpose for our suffering. The real context of this reference is part of God’s word to His people and a revelation of how to live in Him for Him and for His glory.

There are many people facing difficult situations today and such people can take comfort in the above verse, knowing that it is not a promise to immediately rescue you from hardship or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for our lives and regardless of our current situation, He can work through it to prosper you and give you a hope. Prophet Jeremiah warned Israel to stop their idol worship, in which they trusted. But God who is loving and gracious, long-suffering and faithful, used His rod of chastening, to correct His people and thus draw them close to Him. And so Jeremiah wrote a message of comfort to the Jews who had been exiled to Babylon. He promised that God’s future plans for His people were rooted in His never-failing faithfulness towards them. He gave them a promise of future peace and wonderful hope and not a pledge of punishment that would result in their ultimate disaster and destruction.
God was mindful of their restoration from Egypt the land of bondage. His thoughts were concerning the peace and prosperity of the Jews in Babylon and not to hurt them. Even their captivity in Babylon was for their own good. Whatever evil befalls them God means it for good. He cannot think it otherwise concerning His children. Since he has designed so much good for them. He wants to bestow much good upon them. He wants to give them an expected end. He is the Alpha, and Omega. The beginning and the end. God wants to give you also a better end of all your problems and sufferings.
Today God wants to comfort you also who are reading this message with the same assurance that prophet Jeremiah was relating about the words of God, to the captive Israelites in Babylon. He was trying to correct some of the false prophets who were promising the people that God would soon free them. The Israelites were captives in Babylon, for nearly seventy years. You too might be in some kind of captivity or bondage. May be incurable disease, huge debts, court case, family dispute and children’s disobedience leads you to mental stress. You may be crying over any such issues. To such people God comforts them by saying, “I know the plans, I have for you —plans for your welfare and not for your disaster. Though your current situation seems to be rather hurtful, yet the end will be successful. The plans God has prepared for you, is designed to prosper you and bring you peace and comfort, safety and success. God promises that if you are patient and submit to His words, then you would thrive as a nation, and the city would prosper. The Lord desires the best for His children even though you may stray far from Him. His plan for you is to give a future and a hope. You have an assurance that whatever you may have to face today, God’s thoughts toward you are only good continually “for I know the plans that I have for you”, declares the LORD. “They are plans for peace and not disaster – plans to give you a future, filled with hope”. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You, Lord, for the good plans You have purposed for us and for our children. Enlarge our vision about You and enable us to trust Your word of truth through all the circumstances of our life, knowing that Your thoughts towards us are only good continually. Thank You, Father, that all things work together for good, for those that love You and are fitting into Your plans and purposes. Continue to protect us .
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
