God Given Talents - Bro. T. Stephen

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of Matthews 25:21 “His Lord said to him, “Well done good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few things I will make you a ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”

My dear brothers and sisters, if a man wants to enter into a happy family life or do his ministry peacefully, or work happily at his job, or study well in his school, college, or prosper in any profession, then God expects something important from him. You need to be honest in few things that God has entrusted to you. If you are found faithful in few things then God will make you ruler over many things.

From the above context in the bible we come to understand that the master of his house went to a far off country; but before going out, he called his three servants and entrusted each one of them with talents. To one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another,  one talent according to his own ability and immediately he went on a journey. He returned back after a long interval and asked his servants what they had accomplished with the talents. The one who had received five talents went and traded with his talents and made another five talents. Likewise, he who had received two gained two more also. But the third who received one talent went and dug into the ground and hid the talents given to him.

The Lord came back and settled accounts with them. The first two servants invested their money wisely in the business and doubled their profit. But the one who got only one talent said that his master was very  stern, “Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping

Where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, so went and hid the talent in the ground.” But his master answered and said to him, “You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. Therefore, you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. Therefore, the talent given to him was taken from him and given to one who had ten talents.

Dear brothers and sisters, God has blessed each one of us with talents. Only if you make use of the talents that God has given, you can improve yourself and shine in life. If you do not make use of your talents, then God will take it away from you. There is a saying that says, “Make hay while the sun shines.” You need to make use of the “God given talents”. Find out the hidden talents in your life and make use of them for the glory of God. For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance. But from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day.  Thank you Lord for all the talents that you have given to my children.   Help them to utilize it usefully and carefully. Teach them to find out the hidden talents that are buried inside of them and use them properly to achieve greater heights in life. In Jesus Name we pray,

Amen.
