Dear Brother and Sister in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Acts 9 :39,40 “Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. But Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up “
My Dear Brother And Sister, From this context we learn how God uses His servants to heal those who are ill and diseased. In those days Saul was chasing Christians and in one such journey to Damascus , suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”Then Ananias touched Saul’s eyes and his blindness was restored. After which as we all know he became the Apostle Paul who went about preaching the gospel of God. Paul says that it is the power of Salvation to everyone who has faith. Paul says, that it is the spirit of God, that gives this gift of healing. It is a blessing in disguise. When healing takes place, it is always intended to glorify Jesus Christ. And none of us has the authority to heal the body. Only the creator does. That is why we pray in Jesus name. Paul even resurrected a man. Even the handkerchief were placed on his body and then placed on the sick. And the disease left them and the evil spirit went out of them.
My Dear Brother And Sister, we again see how Apostle Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. And Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.” Then he arose immediately. Many on seeing this healing miracle accepted Jesus as their Saviour. At Joppa there was a certain disciple named iTabitha,who was also known as jDorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they laid her in an upper room. And since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples had heard that Peter was there, so they sent two men to him, imploring him to come quickly. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. But Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
My Dear Brother And Sister, thus we see how God had blessed his disciples the gift of healing. Is anyone sick and diseased in your family? Well remember God will send His word and heal them of their disease. Is anyone possessed with witchcraft, or black magic, God will deliver them too, if you seek the face of God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” The Bible says in the book of James, “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. God promises by saying, ” I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord, “If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.”Finally my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Almighty God, you are the only source of health and healing. In you there is calmness, and the only true peace in the universe. Grant to each one of us an awareness of your presence, and give us perfect confidence in you. In all pain and weariness and anxiety teach us to yield ourselves to your never-failing care, knowing that your love and power surround us, trusting in your wisdom and providence to give us health and strength and peace when your time is best .
