EBENEZER – The God Who Helps - Bro. T. Stephen

Beloved children of God in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 14:11, “And Asa cried out to the LORD his God, and said, ‘LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power.’” Our Lord has many names, and one of those names is Ebenezer, which means “The God who helps.” He is our ever-present help in times of trouble.

Today, you may be facing a situation in your work, your business, your family, or even in your ministry, where you feel helpless. You might be standing alone, with no one to support or help you. Perhaps you’re overwhelmed, without strength, and wondering, “Will no one help me out?” If these are the tears of your heart today, look up to the Lord, just as Asa did. Asa cried out not just to any god, but to his God. He knew that the Lord’s ability to help does not depend on how many people are on your side or how powerful they are. It is nothing for God to help—whether with many or with those who have no power.

This very morning, lift your hands toward the presence of God and say, “Lord, our God, it is nothing for You to help, whether with the mighty or the powerless. I have no strength left, Lord. My heart has lost its hope. I feel weak and unable to move forward. Lord, I ask for Your help. My thoughts are clouded, my energy is gone. Help me, Lord. I can’t go on without You.”

Fall before the Lord and cry out, “My Lord, my God!” Ask Him to renew your body: “My weakened kidneys, my tired lungs, my struggling heart, my liver and brain—restore them, Lord. Strengthen my hands that hang low. Strengthen my feeble legs. Strengthen my heart.” As you keep praying, a power from heaven will descend upon you. The Lord Jesus Christ, who strengthens you, will come and fill you with new strength and health. He will make you able to do all things through His strength.

Powerful testimony:
Brother Alfred Varghese, who lives in Dubai, was once trapped in an online scam. Someone had misused his registered Emirates ID and involved him in a fraud worth 2,829 AED, which is nearly ₹50,000 in Indian currency. The burden of payment fell unjustly on him. Unable to bear the pressure, he filed a complaint with the police. At this desperate moment, he emailed a prayer request to Brother Stephen, asking for prayer. After receiving a reply with a Word from God and a promise verse, a miracle happened—the police took immediate action, and God delivered him from the issue completely. The Lord helped him. And today, if you’ve been cheated or wronged, believe that the same God who helped Alfred will redeem and honour you too.

Let’s pray:
Loving Lord, we thank You. You are our strength and our ever-present help in time of need. When Asa called upon You and said, “LORD, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power,” You came running and gave him victory. You are the Lord who strengthens us. Today, many enemies may stand against Your children—whether they are spiritual forces, problems at work, health issues, or emotional burdens. But Lord, strengthen their hands. Make them sturdy. Let them not fall. Before every challenge, let Your strength rise within them and grant them the victory. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray,
Amen.
