Beauty for Ashes - Bro. T. Stephen

Beloved children of God in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I am delighted to meet you all on this 21st December through this Auspicious word. May God bless you.

As we are nearing this festive season, the Lord is meeting you with a special Auspicious word. The book of the Prophet Isaiah 61:3 says: “He has sent Me to console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes.”

Why did God our Father send Jesus Christ to this earth? There are many reasons. He came to restore the image of God that we lost, to give us the experience of salvation, and to transform us into a new creation. He came to restore the wealth we lost, the strength we lost, and the good things we lost. To redeem all that was lost, the Lord came.

Not only that, the prophet says, “He has sent Me to console those who mourn in Zion.” This means that in your homes, if there is sadness due to loss, death, sickness, sorrow, or pain, according to this word, Jesus has come to console those who mourn.

When Jesus was born, the Bible says He was born to be the comfort of Israel. When He was brought to the temple for dedication, Simeon was eagerly waiting to see Jesus—the Comfort of Israel. When he saw Him, he rejoiced and said, “Now my eyes have seen the Redeemer.”

That day, Jesus was in the hands of Simeon. Today, this living Jesus is asking: how many of you are ready to carry Him in your hearts?

If you give Him space in your heart, He will change your sorrow into beauty. He will work a miracle in your sorrow and turn it into joy. What is the matter that has kept you unhappy? You wake up in the morning feeling burdened, unwilling to go out, unwilling to meet anyone, or even to go to work. The Lord will look into that very matter and turn your sorrow into joy.

Next, the Word says, “Beauty instead of ashes.” When does a person sit in ashes? When they are completely broken, vexed, and have lost everything. Job lost his wealth, possessions, and health. After losing everything, he sat in ashes, scraping himself with a potsherd, as the Bible says.

To sit in ashes means a person has lost everything and has come to nothing. But if you have lost everything, the Lord promises to give you beauty instead of ashes. At the moment when you feel you have lost all, the Lord will restore everything and illuminate your life.

Testimony:

“I got married one and a half years ago. Six months after my marriage, my mother-in-law brought me to the Anbarin Paathathil meeting to pray for me, as I was facing hindrance in conceiving. At the same time, my husband had been trying to get his father’s government job for ten years, but it was continuously hindered.

We participated in the Anbarin Paathathil fasting prayer and prayed with Brother Stephen. During the prayer, Brother shared a verse, spoke this Mangala Vaarthai, prayed for us, and blessed us wholeheartedly.

After that prayer, I conceived. In the very same month, my husband received the government job. In the same month, we received all these blessings. We give thanks to God.”

Prayer

Loving Lord, we thank You. In the name of Jesus, I greet and bless these children. Lord, no matter how sad, turn their sorrow into joy. Whether they have lost a loved one, lost wealth, or faced shame, failure, or great loss, turn all their sorrow into joy and their mourning into dancing.

You said You would give beauty for ashes. Lord, for those who feel broken, depressed, and weary in life, remove every spirit of depression and fill them with encouragement during this festive season. Let the good things they are expecting happen today. Let every failure turn into victory.

Lord, intervene in every matter of depression and perform miracles. We also thank You for the children celebrating their birthdays and wedding days today. According to this Auspicious word, let good things happen for them throughout this year.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
