My dearly beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you all in the Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today’s life-giving word is taken from the book of Luke 19:17 “And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.”
The Bible raises the question “But who can find a faithful man?” (Proverbs 20:6). Only a man of integrity will prosper and progress in his personal life, spiritual life, and in the work of his hands. The owner of a business will be more diligent, industrious, and virtuous than his employees to reap a bountiful profit. This is what the Bible says, “A faithful man will be richly blessed” (Proverbs 28:20).
God will exalt those who honor and glorify Him. When Joseph was in prison, Pharoah had a dream. No one could decipher the meaning of the dream. But God gave Joseph the grace to interpret the dream, this caused Joseph to receive praise from Pharoah. Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. (Genesis 41:39). Pharoah set Joseph over all the land of Egypt.
We see a similar situation in Daniel’s life. King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of a golden statue, and no one could interpret his dream. When Daniel interpreted the dream, King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should present an offering and incense to him (Daniel 2:46). The king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon (Daniel 2:48).
These two young men, Daniel and Joseph were filled with the Holy Spirit and were able to interpret the dreams and its hidden meaning. But they never boasted of their ability to interpret the dream instead gave God all the glory and honor and humbly said, “God will reveal it to you.”
Daniel said, “But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.” (Daniel 2:28).
In the same way Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” (Genesis 41:16).
Beloved children of God, both Joseph and Daniel honored God before Kings. They humbly declared that without the Lord we cannot interpret the hidden meaning behind the dreams. Likewise, if you honor God in whatever you do, He will lift you up.
Decide today to always honor God in whatever you do. Determine in your hearts to be faithful and truthful in the eyes of the Lord. God will be with you and accomplish mighty things through you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord, thank you for guiding my children so far. As you were with Daniel and Joseph in their youth be with them and guide them. Give them the grace to live faithful lives, obey your commandments and honor you entire life. Help my children to live lives that are pleasing in your sight.
