THE GREAT ANNOINTING

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that   God   has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book  of I  Samuel 16:13 “ Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.”

From the above context we learn that our God, provides for the welfare of the people, just as God had previously provided His people, deliverance from Pharaoh; manna, heavenly food, water from the rock, and quails for meat, the law through Moses, in the wilderness; and a land flowing with milk and honey, God says to Samuel: “I have provided for myself a king among Jesse’s sons.” God’s guidance is usually not as discernable in the moment as it is in hindsight. We may not sense what God is doing in our midst or how God is leading us. Even the great prophet Samuel did not know what God was doing. Neither Saul nor David’s older brothers might have understood the way in which God was providing for Israel a good leadership.

Jesse brought each of his first seven sons before Samuel to see which son would be anointed as king. “But none of them were chosen either. There was one more son, but he was the youngest and of such little account that Jesse had left him out in the field tending the sheep. In the ancient times, the shepherd was a symbol of the king. When David was brought forth, the Lord said, to Samuel. “Rise and anoint him; for this is the one I have chosen to be the king of Israel.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil out of his pocket, which he brought along with him by the direction of God: and anointed him in the midst of his brethren; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward;

From this incident we realize that God is careful to honour, His people, whom others have humiliated, and put to shame. God honoured David, among his brothers. God made his name great. God exalted David, who was criticised and condemned by his own brothers, and raised him up as the king of Israel, in the midst of his brothers. David was insulted and considered very low because he tended his father’s sheep. His seven other brothers were all warriors in the battle field. Once his father asked him to take the food and grains and give them to his brothers in the battle field.  Being very obedient he readily agreed to go and offer the food and grain to his brothers with goodwill. While his brothers were all eating David was standing there and watching at the people over there and observing what was going on there. But his brothers rebuked him saying, “What work have you here? Keep on going.”They didn’t like him standing in the battle field as he was only a shepherd boy and was fit to tend only sheep. They put him to shame before others.  They disregarded him, so God wanted to honour David.

Just as God honoured David and made his name great before his brothers God wants to make your name great. Will you humble yourself, before God and your own family members? Will you be patient and endure troubles at your work spot? Are you willing to go an extra mile and   humble yourself   before your Boss or any   people who may dislike you for the glory of God, and then God will grant you double honour. He will give you name and fame.  God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You Lord for teaching us through the character of David to be humble and patient. Teach us to be long suffering and tolerant even during trying times and never to be rude or boastful of our high  position in life. Never to disrespect or disregard anyone have we come in contact. Let others   see Christ in Us.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen.

Prayer for Protection

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that  God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of   Psalms 12:5, “ For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, says the Lord; I will set him in safety from him that puffs at him.”

The psalmist begs help of God, because there were none among men whom he could   trust. – This psalm furnishes good thoughts for bad times; a man may comfort himself with meditations and prayers. But what really makes the times bad? If we ask the children of this world, what makes the times bad? They will tell you, scarcity of money, decay of trade, and the desolations of war, make the times bad: but the Scripture says, the badness of the times shall come, when sin shall abound; and man will turn to wicked ways.

David says when piety decays times are really bad. When the poor and needy are oppressed, then the times are very bad. God himself takes notice of the oppression of the poor, and the sighing of the needy. When wickedness abounds, and is misused by those in authority, then the times are very bad. See we are here furnished for such bad times; and we cannot tell what times we may be reserved for. Firstly, we have a God to go to, from whom we may ask and tell all our grievances. Secondly,   God will certainly punish and restrain false and proud men. Thirdly   God will work deliverance for his oppressed people. His help is given in the fittest time.

Though men are false, God is faithful; though they are not to be trusted, God can be trusted always. The preciousness of God’s word is compared to silver refined to the highest degree. How many proofs have been given of its power and truth! God will secure his chosen people, however bad the times are. As long as the world stands, there will be a generation of proud and wicked men. But all God’s people are put into the hands of Christ our Saviour; there they are in safety, for none can pluck them thence; being built on Him, the Rock, they are safe, notwithstanding temptation or persecution might come their way .

For the oppression of the poor – indicates the wrong done to the poor – by the abuse of speech. On account of the slanders uttered against them, when they uttered words of “vanity” and “flattery”. When promises were made but, only to be broken, in such a state of things the “poor” are the most likely to suffer. In performing service for others – in daily labour on a farm or in a mechanical employment – they would depend on the promises made by their employers; and when their pay was withheld, they and their families suffer..God says, to such people I will set him in safety.  I will make him safe. I will save him from the evils which they thought to bring upon him. God is the vindicator of the poor and the oppressed.”Rich people regard them as insignificant and worthless. But God assures to support the poor and needy. God will support you and your family if you happen to go through hard days in life. Are you oppressed by your Boss? Is the higher official causing trouble to you? Are you being subjected to criticism and ridicule? Look to God. He will lend a helping hand to you at times of such crisis. Just trust in God the Almighty. He will save you. God Bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day.  Lord we pray for the strength and protection of the Lord.   God, our heavenly Father, you know that we are set in the midst of so many great dangers, that by reason of the frailty of our nature we cannot always stand upright: Grant us such strength and protection, to support us in all danger, and carry us through all temptations; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

You Shall Have Honour

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that  God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of   Isaiah:61:7 “Instead of your shame you shall have double honour. And Instead of confusion, they shall rejoice in their portion. Everlasting  joy shall be theirs.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we learn that  God wants to bless His people. He wants to demonstrate His love, and kindness through His blessings   bestowed upon His people.  Jesus came that He might open up the blessing of God   to those who believe. God said, “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Jesus came that we might have a life, that is superabundant, and more than enough, a double portion of life. God is not stingy with His blessings, but He gives more than what is needed.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, the good news is that God is going to give you double honour instead of your shame  in the future. Are you prepared to receive it? Specifically in whatever area, of your life, you have gone through shame all these years, God is willing to give you double honour and magnify you. May be in the past years, you have been facing shame, because of your failures, in your life. You would have become a shameful person, before others, God is going to equalize all the failures you have gone through with a double portion of honour.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, your children would have brought you shame, because of their bad behaviour. But the same children,  will in the future, earn good name, for you and for themselves, They will bring double portion of honour in their life, by studying  well or working well in their office and earning reputation. They will bring name and fame  for  their parents. So do  not worry God will change all your situation, for the good of your family.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, In the past the creditors might have spoken very shamefully, because you had not  returned the money you had borrowed from them on time. And therefore they have put you down before others.  But in future  the same people from whom you borrowed money are going to speak highly about you. and God is going to make you lend to others and not allow you to borrow from others.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, may be in the past, since you did not have the gift of children, many would have spoken ill of you. and   you would have been put to shame. and  this would have caused pain to you. But in future the same people who put you to shame, before others, and had disregarded you, will come forward, to honour you and you shall receive double honour instead of your shame. Thus whatever evil you gone through in the past, and have experienced such shame, and humiliation, before others, will all be turned for the good of your life.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, But to achieve double portion of honour, name and fame, you need to do walk in  the ways of the Lord. Your life must be pleasing unto God. You need to obey His commandments and pray to the Lord to teach you, as to  how you should carry your life in this sinful world. The Psalmist says, “Lord teach me to do things that are pleasing unto you.”Ask God to lead you each day of your life.  Then God will teach you and instruct you in the way you should go. He will guide you with His eyes and direct your steps. Are you willing to walk in the ways of God? No matter what befalls you, will you still follow Him without murmuring, then  God will make your name great and exalt you before others. God Bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for teaching us through this message that you came down to give us life, and that we  may have it more abundantly.  You came that we might have a life, that is superabundant, and more than enough, a double portion of life. To receive name and fame teach us to follow you faithfully and diligently.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

Royal Bounties

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Genesis 30:43 “And the man increased exceedingly and had much cattle, and maid servants, and men servants and camels, and asses.”

From the above context we learn that Jacob prospered in the house of his uncle Laban because of his hard work. Firstly He tended the sheep. His salary was changed ten times by his unkind uncle. Later he partnered along with his uncle in sheep rearing and earned much. Only after becoming exceedingly prosperous he returned to his homeland Canaan. He says, “While crossing Jordan this staff was my only treasure.  It is the staff that the Lord gave me in my hand. I held on to this staff, and departed to my uncle’s place from my father’s home.” We see from the above context how Jacob worked hard to make a good living. Jacob held on to the staff that the Lord had given him till the very end.

Are you making use of your talents that the Lord has given you?  The master gave five talents to his servant and when he came back the servant gave the master double the talents by working hard and making a good profit in his business. The master appreciated his hard effort.  God also will appreciate your hard work.    Therefore make use of the talents that God has bestowed into your hands.  The Lord has blessed you with good education. You have acquired a good degree, so you must make a good income   or earn well by putting up hard work.  You must earn your royal bounties.

We often see how much pain parents take to give sound education to their children; they at times face problems because of them and are forced to stand before the Principal and face shame and humiliation too, yet for the sake of their children they bear it all cheerfully.   But some children fail to make use of their education, and hurt their parents by not going to work. They become lazy and stay at home, instead of working hard. Such children can never prosper in their life.  Everyone wishes to come up in life.  No one ever wants to go down in life. To become a great person, you must work hard with the staff that you have in your hand.

Jacob was very strong in his decision that he would not go back to his homeland, until he became a wealthy man. Only after he had earned well and made a lot of wealth he went to his homeland.  That should be your decision too. That you will work hard and become great in life. There is nothing impossible to them that believe in God. For all things are possible to him who believes. May God bless you to earn your Royal Bounties.

Prayer:  Our loving   heavenly   Father,   we   thank You for this blessed day.  Lord thank you for the staff you have given us to earn a better living. Teach us to make use of the staff   carefully. Help us to work hard and aspire to be great in life. Give us the strength to work hard. May we like Jacob make good decision in our life and achieve  greater heights.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

I Am A Green Olive Tree

My Dear Brother and Sister, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that   God  has  given  for  you  today  is  from the book of  Psalms 52:8,9 “ But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever. I will thank you forever, because you have done it. I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.” –

My Dear Brother and Sister, from the above context we learn that David  states his confidences in the Lord . As he was often surrounded  by the wicked enemies. David,  shifts  his attention to the Lord, he makes a statement of his confidence in God: He says, “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God” David warns the evildoer that God “will uproot him from the land of the living.” Since  David is like a green olive tree, in  the house of God, he is stable, supplied, and secure.   David “was safe and secure in midst of the wicked enemies, because he lived in the presence of God always

My Dear Brother and Sister, How can you be like a green olive tree in the house of God? Firstly, Just trust in the Lord. David declares, “I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever” To trust in the Lord is to live in dependence, reliance, and confidence in the Lord. This is the only way to face evil, injustice, and wickedness. You must trust in the Lord. The Lord is worthy of your trust, because of his “steadfast love.” God’s love is volitional, not emotional. God loves us because he has promised to love us and God always keeps his promises. God’s love is loyal. When others turn against you, God’s love remains steadfast. Even when you turn from God to go your own way, His love remains steadfast.

My Dear Brother and Sister, secondly thank the Lord always. David testifies, “I will thank you forever, because you have done it” Thanksgiving to God is a clear evidence of trust in God. A life of worry, doubt, and fear betrays a lack of confidence in God. Trust in God’s faithfulness is rooted in gratitude for God’s past faithfulness. Thanksgiving fuels trust. In the midst of trouble, David’s focus was on who did it, not on what was done. This focus on the Lord enabled him to give thanks even in the trials he faced.

My Dear Brother and Sister, thirdly “Wait on the Lord.” David announces, “I will wait for your name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly” A trusting and thankful heart will be marked by patience. This patience is not about sitting down and waiting. To wait, is to walk by faith, not by sight. You walk behind the Lord, expecting him to lead you. You do not walk or run ahead of the Lord, taking matters into your own hand. David, hoped in the Lord, waiting on the promises  of God.

My Dear Brother and Sister, Are you like a green olive tree in the house of God? What are the trials, troubles, and tribulations you face? No matter what is going on in your life or in the world around you, you can face them like a green olive tree in the house of God. Through faith in the Lord  Jesus Christ, focus on God and not your circumstances. Live with assurance that God is obviously present, actively in-charge, and dynamically at-work. God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You for telling us  that we need to be like the green olive tree in the house of God. Help us to trust in the Lord,  be thankful to God and also wait on the Lord for all the events in our life.

 In Jesus name we pray.

 Amen.
