God’s Defense

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Psalms 17:8,9 , “Keep me as the apple of Your eye, Hide Me under the Shadow of Your Wings.”From the wicked who oppress, from the deadly enemies who surround me.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that David being compassed with enemies prays to God the Father, in this Psalm, to keep him in safety. David cried out to God, asking God to preserve him, guard him, and defend him, as one who would protect that which is most precious and valuable to him. He says, “Lord keep me as the apple of your eye. Hide me under the shadow of your wings.” This is in comparison to birds, or fowls, that protect their young ones by gathering them, under their wings. It is probable that the Psalmist had this passage in his mind, where it says, “’He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of his eye, as an eagle, stirreth up her nest, flutters over her young , spreads, abroad her wings, So the Lord led him in the wilderness.”
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, In the Life of David, there was a huge time of oppression. Even though he was anointed to be the king of Israel, by Prophet Solomon, yet he could not enjoy the kingship that was granted to him. He was rather chased by his own uncle king Saul, who wandered everywhere to kill David. He was jealous of him because he was victorious over Goliath the Philistine giant who came against the Israelites. Saul was all the time planning as to how he might kill him. On the other hand, his own son, Absalom was awaiting opportunities to kill his father David, in order to usurp the throne after the death of his father. His wife Michal, listening to her father, King Saul, despised David and went to live with another man named Palti. Thus his entire family was against him. And now, David was in great distress. He was over whelmed with sorrow.
My Dear Brothers and Sisters, David did not have any security for his life. He was afraid that his son Absalom would kill him any time. So in order to save his life he hid himself in the foothills, and caves. There are numerous Psalms written by him about his lamenting over his fear of death and his sorrowful state of life. And Psalm seventeen is one among them, focusing from the beginning till the end, about the sorrow over his death, and his family problems. He cries out in this Psalm to the Lord, as a prayer, asking God to help him overcome this fear of death and asks God to protect him. Once, when he fled from King Saul, to the caves, he cried out to the Lord in fear, saying, “Lord be merciful to me, for my soul trusts, in You, And in the shadow of your wings, I will make my refuge. Until these calamities, have passed by.” Later he says, “’Lord I will abide in Your Tabernacle, forever. I will trust in the Shelter of your wings. Lord because You have been my help, therefore I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.”
David was surrounded with foes from all corners. There were many wicked and cruel men who oppressed him. And he was surrounded with several enemies who were so bitter to him in spite of his goodness. So he says, “’Lord protect me and keep me as the apple of Your eye. Hide me under the shadow of Your wings.” He sought for God’s hand of protection. He knew well that he could rely upon the eternal God for his refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will thrust out all his enemies, from before him, and he shall dwell in safety. And one day all his enemies will submit to him and he shall tread down their high places.
Are you afraid of your enemies? Is someone chasing you for no reason? Have you been surrounded by unwanted and wicked foes? It may be your own relatives, creditors, one of your own siblings who is troubling you, your own nephew, or niece? Don’t be afraid, of the trouble, from the wicked when it comes. Whoever it may be, put your trust in Jesus, He will cause your enemies to surrender at your feet. Like David, Remain under the shadow of His Mighty wings. He will protect you and keep you secure. No one can pluck you out from His Hands. He will keep you as the apple of His eye. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank you for this blessed day. Thank You for reminding us about the miserable life of David, through this passage. And because He trusted in God he was safe. Help us to put our confidence in God and not on worldly things. Make us to understand that even though we are surrounded by our enemies. Teach us to believe that God will protect us. And He will be a very present help.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

God’s Covenant

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Exodus 34:10 “Then the Lord said: “I am making a covenant with you. Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.”
From the above context we understand that our God performed awesome things in the midst of the people of Israel, before he could take them into the land of Canaan. And God said to Moses, “ Behold, I will make a covenant” for the people had broken the covenant made previously, as Moses had entreated, God to forgive the sins of the people, and to go along with them and lead them into the land of Canaan, and drive out the inhabitants of it before them; and, that the people should avoid idolatry, and everything that led to it, particularly making covenants, and entering into alliances with the idolatrous nations. God said to him, that He will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation.

God performed many wonders during their journey in the wilderness. Some of the events included , such as the earth opening its mouth and swallowing alive Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, and this was a new thing God created; Then the smiting of the rock at Kadesh, from where flowed waters abundantly; Again He healed the people from the plague who were bitten by fiery serpents, when they looked at the brass serpent. The other incident was when Balaam’s ass began speaking, and reproving the madness of the prophet. The people witnessed the waters of Jordan being divided, The walls of Jericho fell at the sound of rams’ horns; and how the sun stood still upon Gibeon, and moon stood still at Ayalon. until the Lord had avenged himself of his enemies: All the people surrounding the Israelites shall see the work of the Lord; for it should be visible, as the above things were, and plainly appear to be the Lord’s doing, and not man’s, being above the power of any created being to perform:
God further said that it would be a terrible thing that he would do with Moses, the meekest man on the face of the earth. God caused change on the face of Moses’, it was the wonderful shining of the skin of his face, when he came down from the mount, which made the children of Israel afraid to come near him; and Moses lived almost 120 years, yet he was vigorous and his eye was not dim.
In this world you will have problems, tribulation, burden of debts, a lot of pressure, a tight situation and sicknesses, but you have a God in the midst of you who has power to change all the situation by sending just one word. He will take care of all things that concerns you. You seem to be perplexed as to how your future will be? What will happen to your family. All these days you were inside your house because of lock down but now that all is unlocked, you need to go out to work , you need to educate your children, pay their fees and your house rent, that has been pending. God is telling each one of you who are reading this message that He will meet all your needs in a marvellous manner just as He performed several wonders in the midst of the Israelites while they were journeying through the wilderness. He is blessing your future, with wonders. Amen, Hallelujah!
God is looking at you and is telling you, that God is making an agreement with you. God is making a promise or covenant, with You. He is a God of Promise. He will never fail you. He will deliver you with His right hand. For the works of the Lord are great, His work is honourable and glorious. He works in ways, that cannot be comprehended. He has made His wonderful works to be remembered. He has given food to those who fear Him. He will ever be mindful of His covenant. He has declared to His people the power of His works. He has commanded His covenant forever. If God can be faithful to His chosen people, will He not be faithful to you? The Bible says, “Even if we are faithless, God remains faithful, for He cannot deny, Who He is. ” So believe in God, He will do wonders for you. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank You for doing wonders for the people of Israel, in the midst of their foes such as, You have never done before. The world looks at You in amazement at the terrible works that you did through Moses the servant of God. Similarly perform wonders for us as we wait upon You especially during these days, when we are going through economic downfall and steeped in depression. Bless us O Lord. Cause Your face to shine upon us, for we totally depend on you.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

God’s Children

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.  The blessed word that God has given you for today is from the book of Mark 10: 13, 16,  “And they brought young children to Him that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. When Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them for of such is the kingdom of God. “And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them and blessed them.”

While Jesus lived in  this world, 2000 years ago, the  people were bringing little children to Jesus, for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. For children are a gift from the Lord, they are a reward, from Him. That is why God said, “Whoever receives one such child, in My name, receives Me, and whoever receives Me, receives not only Me,   but also Him who sent Me.

The parents wanted Jesus to touch their little children and thereby place God’s blessing upon them. They recognized that Jesus came from God and that His touch brought healing and blessing from God. Apparently the disciples thought that the little children were insignificant and that Jesus had more important things to do than spend His time laying His hands on little children. It was the disciples’ common practice to try to send people away rather than be bothered with their problems and seek to minister to them. But when Jesus saw this, he was moved with indignation and said to them, allow the little children to come to me; and do not forbid them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  When He saw what His disciples were doing, He was angry and offended by the action of His disciples because they were giving the people the false impression that Jesus had no time for insignificant people like little children and His ministry did not include them.

We may hinder our children from coming to Christ by living a hypocritical life—speaking like a Christian but living like the world. Another way in which we might hinder our children from coming to Christ is by failing to show them the love and mercy of the Lord Jesus, that He is compassionate and forgiving and willing to restore us when we confess our sins and return to Him.   By asking the disciples to allow the little children to come to Him,  Jesus meant  that in order to enter the kingdom of God a person must have the trust and dependence that is characteristic of a little child—a trust and dependence upon Christ. Jesus is not referring to some supposed innocence of a child, for we are all born in sin and need the forgiveness which only Jesus can give.

Our God is a loving God. And He loves little children.   So He allowed the little children to come unto him   and he carried them and He also touched them and even blessed them. Today God is going to touch and bless you and your children. When the Lord touches you there will be a great change in you.  God will bring a great deliverance in you. 2000  years  ago  God anointed  Jesus,  of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit, and with the power, Jesus went about doing good and healed  all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. People brought their children with the hope that if Jesus touched their children they would have a bright future. Jesus gathered those children who were brought to Him and touched and blessed them. Today God is going to place his hands upon your children and bless them.  He will heal them of their sickness.  He will bless them in their education. He will help them with wisdom and good understanding. They will grow to be better citizen. Then all your children shall be taught by the Lord, And great shall be the peace of your children. Therefore do not hinder your children from coming to the Lord.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly  Father, we thank You for this blessed day. We thank You because you touch and bless our children. Help them and guide them in their daily life. We surrender our children into  Your hands. We praise you because You watch over our  children  at all times,  especially when our  children  go through tough times.  Remove all fear from them.  May they realize  the   importance  of  their  life  and walk diligently.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

The Victory

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Esther 9:1, “Now in the twelfth month, that is the month of Adar, On the thirteenth day, The time came for the kings command. And his decree to be executed. On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them.”
From the above context we realize that King Ahasarus ruled over 127 countries, He was a powerful ruler. He ruled from India, to Ethiopia. Many different kinds of people lived in these nations. And the Jews were spread across these 127 nations. The ruling government then issued an order, saying that on a particular day, at this particular time, the law will be implemented.

Similarly a law was passed stating that all the Jews should be killed in the twelfth month Adar, on the thirteenth day. All the Jews sat mourning over the decree about the death sentence passed against them. They trembled to hear the decree about the death. They were filled with fear, and anguish. All the Jews in these nations gathered together. There is only one opportunity to change or alter this situation. They knew that only God could bring about the change. So they fasted three days, and prayed earnestly for the king to change the law.

The Kings commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution that on the thirteenth day, of the twelfth month all the Jews should be killed. Great expectation there was, no doubt, of this day and the issue of it. The Jews cause was to be tried, by the court of Shushan and the day was fixed for the combat by the authority. Their enemies resolved not to lose the opportunity given to them. They were with much hope to overpower the Jews.

On the other hand, the Jews relied on the goodness of their God and justice, of their cause and resolved to make their utmost efforts against their enemies. Queen Esther boldly entered into the presence of the king and requested the king to change the law in favour of her people. The King was prepared to do anything for her so he altered the law in favour of the Jews at the last minute. Finally the day came, and we learn that it was a day, of great victory and triumph to the Jews both in the city of Sushan and in all provinces.

The day which was selected by Haman with great industry and art as the luckiest day, turned out to be the unluckiest day, for Haman. The people of Sushan who were drenched in fear, began to rejoice at the verdict passed by the king. In the same way God can bring about a great change in your life too. Whatever problem you may be going through, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think or pray. Our God can change the very situation of your life in your favour and just the opposite will occur. It is an easy thing for the Lord to do. So don’t be afraid. Trust in Jesus. He will set you free from every bondage.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for hearing the cry of the Jews and answering their prayer. Thank you for helping queen Esther to be bold and enter into the presence of king Ahasarus and intercede on behalf of her people and thus change the very course of the history of the Jews. Thank you for turning their sorrow into joy. Likewise turn our sorrow into joy.

In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.

NO MORE TEARS

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Revelation 21:4, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

He is a God who wipes our tears. He   wants us to live a happy and comfortable life.  He does not want us to suffer and weep over our problems. But because of our own mistakes or because of our sinful nature we get entangled into some kind of captivity. Yet, God due to His love and mercy wants to set us free from all our struggles and wipe our tears. He even gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.  God strengthens us when we are weak. He loves you and He cares for you. So trust in Him for every need of yours. Because the Lord will give what is good.

The Lord says, weeping, shall endure for a night – and the tear-drops,  that have dampened our pillows will one day be wiped away. God Himself will dry every tear, for He enters into every searing pain and each aching heart. Not one secret   sigh that crosses our minds, nor one stabbing pain that cuts deep into our hurting heart is missed by our gracious God of love, for He is our great God of comfort and Lord of  life .We live in a fallen world and none  of us  can escape  from the difficulties and tragedies that stalk the path of every person  that is born into this fallen race. But through this beautiful truth, God is giving us a tiny   glimpse  about the new  heaven, and  a  new earth,  that is to be   established by God.

The day is coming when the Lord Himself, will live with men – and they will be His people and He will be their God. This will be a day when all wrongs are set   right. Joy will replace sorrow, and God Himself will dry every teardrop. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will no longer be any death. There will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things would   have passed away.” The Lord knows the deepest pain that breaks   the heart of His people and in Psalms  we   read, that “The Lord puts all our tears into His bottle.” He treasures the tears that His people shed in this world, for they witness many evils and have to endure much persecution and pain for the sake of Christ. But the tears of His people are precious to the Lord, for they are sharing in Christ’s suffering and pain.

Jesus was despised and rejected when He came to earth and gave Himself up,  as the sacrifice for our sin. He was a man of sorrows and acquainted with the same grief and agony that we often have to undergo. But He also faced the agony of the cross on our account, to gain the victory over sin and satan, death and hell. What a blessed truth,  that a day is coming where every tear will be dried by our precious Saviour, because of His sacrifice. “And there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain – for we will reign with Jesus on this earth. Because of His sacrifice, there will be no weeping in heaven,  death and destruction will be swallowed up in victory  by his resurrection.  We will  be  able to rise up into newness of life, where pain and sorrow will flee away,  what a wonderful day that would be. Many who are reading this message are unaware of this truth that one day we  will be along with Jesus in Heaven.

Many of you reading this message are caught up in   some kind of captivity.  You feel so disheartened because, though married for several years, you have not been blessed with a child. Some do not have a stable business. If you take one step forward, you fall behind ten steps back ward. You have no one to lift you up in your business either financially or through man   power or  give  you  moral   support. Some  suffer  because  of  their children, who  do not do very well in their studies.   Rather they have grown disobedient and they are more focused in gadgets like mobile, internet, chatting, playing video games and listening to their peer   groups instead of being dutiful, to their parents. In fact they have become a nuisance to their parents. Some parents think “ why  did I ever have such a son or daughter who cause disgrace to the family.

A  day is already set, for  God  to  wipe away all your tears. But never forget that in this world of sickness and sin, hardship and pain you have a Saviour, who understands your sorrow, pain and agony. Never forget that you  have God’s indwelling Spirit of comfort, Who is with you   every moment you  shed tears. Jesus came to heal the broken-hearted and set the captives free so He understands,  He knows, He loves, and He cares, for each one of us, so draw closer to His arms of comfort, and trust in His love today, for a day is coming where there will no longer be any mourning, crying, or pain. You may not understand why you have to endure some of the things in life that cause such heart-ache and pain. He is our present help in trouble today, and tomorrow He will wipe away the tears from all of our eyes.

Prayer:  Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Father we know that You hold our future, and so we entrust our life into Your hands  today. We know that You are with us in every trial, and pain we are facing. We really don’t know why we go through such sufferings but we  trust  in  Your loving kindness,  and tender mercies, which are new every morning. And your faithfulness towards us is so great.

In Jesus’ name we  pray,

Amen.
