God’s promises are true

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,  I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of  Deuteronomy 26:7 “Then we cried out to the Lord, God of our Fathers, And the Lord looked on our affliction and our  oppression.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   from the above context we understand that our God keeps His promise.  He hears us when we cry out to Him and looks upon our affliction and our oppression. When God has made good His promises to us, He expects that we should own it to the honour of His faithfulness. And our hearts are filled with joy, when we see them flowing from the fountain of promise. The nation Israel, sojourned in Egypt, as strangers, they served there as slaves. They were a poor, despised oppressed people in Egypt. And though they became rich and great  during the course of time, they had no reason to be proud, secure or forgetful of God.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, The work that the Egyptians, forced on the Israelites, was  evil  in motive and cruel in nature. As a result Israelites languished in “misery” and “suffering”. They trudged through the great wilderness for forty years. The Lord had seen the oppression of His people, who were in Egypt, and had heard their cry because of their task masters. He knew their sorrows. Therefore God had promised to deliver them from the hands of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land, to a good and large land,   to a land flowing with milk and honey.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   Then the Israelites cried out to the Lord God of our Fathers, and He heard their cry and sent a deliverer to deliver them from the cruel hands of the Egyptians. Because Pharaoh refused  to set the Israelites free God  decided to punish him sending ten  plagues.  God caused ten plagues upon the land of Egypt, and thus demonstrated His power over Pharaoh and the gods of Egypt. The tenth plague struck Egypt, at midnight and all the first born in the land, died. There was a great cry  throughout the land of Egypt. Through this God made a difference between Egyptians and Israel.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, Thus God of our fathers, kept His promise. His promises are true He never fails His children. He is the same yesterday,  today and forever.  He is looking at your affliction too.  And He wants to set you free, from your captivity. He will lead you from today and grant you a life flowing with milk and honey. A  life  of prosperity.  Satan  has  planned  to  destroy  you but the Lord has sent His angels to protect you.  Whether you are in the deepest sea, or in the midst of darkest night,  He is the only one who comes to your help the moment you call upon  Him.  The only person  on whom you can depend, is the Lord Jesus Christ.  The moment you  trust Him and  call upon Him he will immediately respond to your call  and stretch out His helping  hand. So cheer up.

Prayer:  Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Thank you for assuring   us with your promise that you will never leave us nor forsake us.  You   will   be with us always,  And that you will help us. Teach us to believe in the power of His mighty hand, and   His awesome  nature.  His marvellous signs and wonders.  May we learn to cry out to you, when we are pressed on every side.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

God will give you rest

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I  greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book  of  Matthew 11:28 , “Come to Me all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle, and lowly in heart. and you will find rest for your souls.” For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we learn that God wants us to take rest in Him. He wants us to carry His yoke which is light and easy.  He wants us to learn from Him, for He is gentle and lowly in heart.   Have you ever had a time in your life where you felt overwhelmed by the things of this world?  Where life seemed so hard and no matter, what you did, things just wouldn’t go right. At such hard times the first thing that Jesus says, to us is , “ Come to Me.” We need to come to God personally; there is nothing between Him and us. Secondly He is inviting us to come. God wants you in fact, He wants you so much that Jesus died on the cross just to prove it. God’s love for us is so great and He wanted us so much that He sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. Thirdly God knows those who need rest. It is those who labour and are burdened. But what does that mean?  All those who labour means, those who are striving to do it on their own effort. And   failing to accomplish it.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I know that in my life, when I try to do everything with my own strength, it does not turn out well. “’When you are heavy laden,” means, when your spirit, mind, and emotions, fail to function, properly because there is this weight on you that you try to lift by yourself. It causes you to feel down, depressed, anxious and those negative, things that we do not want in life. So God says, He will give us rest, when we grow weary and He even tells how to derive rest from Him. We need to take His yoke upon us and learn from Him. When we take up His yoke and begin to learn from Him, then we enjoy rest for our souls, our mind, and emotions. God gives us rest from fear, hopelessness, addictions and depressions.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, God drives out our fear, because he is with us, and supernaturally protects us. God has good plans for your life  and you can rest, knowing that no matter what your life is now,  if you trust God, it will get better. God wants to set you free and give you rest, from the torture you are going through by consuming alcohol, or smoking, and taking drugs or indulging yourself in pornography. If you let God to crush the addiction by which you are enslaved, God will gladly and willingly heal your heart, of the things that caused addiction in your life.  Finally depression robs you of the ability to enjoy life and not only hurts you mentally but physically   as well. It is not God’s will that you suffer from depression But God wants you to live a full life and is able to heal your mind, as you take those steps of faith  to find his rest. Therefore learn to find God’s rest. We need to become more like Jesus through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is only as we experience God ,that we become more like Jesus and can rest in Him. May the Lord help you to take rest in Him. God bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord thank You for providing Rest for our souls. Thank You for calling us to come and Rest under your wings. Teach us to carry your yoke upon ourselves, which is light and easy. Help us to learn from you, as you are gentle and lowly in heart. May we have the desire to become more like Jesus.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

God will exalt you

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Isaiah 40:5, “And the glory of the Lord will be revealed. And all flesh will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that God’s glory will be revealed and all flesh will see it together.  The above word means, evidently the majesty power and honour, of Yahweh. He would display His power and show Himself to be a covenant keeping God   by delivering His people, from their bondage, and taking them to their own land flowing with milk and honey. This glory and faithfulness would be shown in his delivering them from their captivity in Babylon, and it would be still more illustriously shown in His sending the Messiah to accomplish the deliverance of His people in the later days to come.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, All the flesh indicates, all human beings will see the glory of God. The idea is that the deliverance of His people would be such a display of   the divine nature—So that all the nations would discern the evidences of his power, and glory. In the same manner   the day has come for the Lord to make His glory shine upon you, outwardly in your life. For whomsoever the Lord has called by name, and has held them by His hand, the Lord wants to perform His glory openly for such chosen people and has brought them thus far. May be until now nothing   good has happened in your life.  If you take one step forward you seem to slip four steps backward. For such children who are saying that nothing good is happening,   the glory of the Lord will shine upon them. The glory of the Lord will be revealed upon you, your children, and your generations to come.

My Dear Brother and Sisters, until today you might have been at the peak of your shame for no reason of yours, or maybe you have been cheated by someone, God is going to reveal His glory in those matters.  You are burdened with a heavy heart because of some serious illness or you seem to be very unsuccessful in your studies or career. God is going to reverse all your situation for the welfare of your life. For we know that all things work together for good to them that love God and to those who are called according to His purpose. For the Lord says, I know the thoughts that I think towards you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Halleluiah! The day has come when He will exalt your name in the same place where you have been put to shame. Hereafter you will stand up and shine for the Lord. Even if the darkness covers the face of this earth the glory of the Lord will not depart from you. And you shall witness it through your own eyes. Halleluiah

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father we thank you for this blessed day.  Lord thank you for revealing your glory to us. And thus lifting us up in our lives. Teach us to believe that the glory of the Lord will be revealed through us in our studies, in our career, in our family life, in our spiritual life too. Make us to understand how great and awesome you are in all your majesty and royalty. Bless us according to Your mercy and grace.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

GLADNESS IN YOUR LIFE

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of , Isaiah 55:13 “Instead of  the  thorn shall come up the Cypress tree. And Instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree.”

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, from the above context we understand that here is a gracious offer of pardon and peace and of all happiness. It will not be vain on the part of anyone who seeks God. And today His word is calling to us. And His spirit is striving with us. We need to alter not only our ways, but we need a change of mind. We must alter our judgements about others. Instead of being profane contentious or selfish, we need to be patient, humble, kind, and peaceable.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, when we alter our ways, we will receive fullness, freeness and greatness of the rich mercy in Christ. There shall be neither pricking brier nor any grieving thorn   but instead of them there shall be trees that yield shade and refreshment.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters,   Briers and thorns represent a general state of wretchedness and sin. The Fir and Myrtle represent a happy external condition of life. Therefore seek Jehovah while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Jehovah and He will have compassion upon him and will abundantly pardon.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, there is one such incident in the Bible which records about Hannah, a faithful woman. She is one of the two wives of Elkanah. His other wife Peninnah had many children. But Hannah remained childless. So she was tormented by Peninnah. Jealousy can make a woman cruel. Bible says, she provoked Hannah severely, irritating her constantly by mocking Hannah’s lack of children. One day Hannah went to the temple, and poured her heart before the Lord. She made a vow to the Lord, saying that if God blessed her with a son, She would dedicate him to the Lord as a Nazi rite. She spoke so silently. But the priest thought that she was drunk. She convinced him that she was not drunk. And said that she was a woman with a sorrowful spirit.  So the priest told her that God will surely grant her wish. Therefore she went home cheerfully.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, She was no more sad. Eli’s words seemed to have a profound effect on her. And in due time she bore a son. All her sorrow was turned to joy. The Bible says, hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. She began to praise God saying,  “ My heart rejoices in the Lord. My horn is exalted in the Lord. I smile at my enemies.”Yes she could boldly smile at Peninnah who criticised her of her childlessness.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters today you too might be experiencing such a thorny, Brier like situation in your life.  But God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think or pray and will change your troubled situation joyful. So do not lose your hope in God.  He turns your mourning into dancing. God comforts all who mourn, to console those who mourn in Zion to give them beauty for ashes. Instead of thorn shall come up cypress tree and instead of the brier, shall come up the myrtle tree. Therefore do not be with a sorrowful spirit, but gladden your heart in the Lord.

Prayer:  Our loving   heavenly   Father,  we  thank  You for this blessed day.  Lord, teach us to  walk by faith  like Hannah. Help us to pour out our heart to the Lord when we are in trouble.  Never to  grow weary  but to grow strong in the Lord. May we change our  attitude, and adapt mannerism and habits that are humble, kind and peaceable.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.

GOD IS IN CONTROL

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today is from the book of Psalms 37:18-19, “The Lord knows the days, of the upright. And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil times. And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.”

My dear Brothers and Sisters, It is destined for man born in this world, to pass through three stages of his life. The period of harvest, the problematic period, and the summer season or period of prosperity. While a person is going through a glorious period of harvest, he is likely to face at times certain problems too. But while crossing through a period of trial, God comforts His children by saying, when you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers they shall not overflow, you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy one of Israel.

The summer season begins after the autumn. So is the life of a man. After he faces problems or trials then he goes through a period of prosperity. The above context refers to the Psalm where David, explains the contrast nature of the upright, and the unrighteous. He says that the Lord knows the days, of the upright. His foreknowledge made him laugh at the proud; but in the case of the upright he sees a brighter future. This is our comfort, always, that all events that take place in our life are known to God. And nothing in our future can take Him unawares. No arrow can pierce us by accident; no danger can smite us by stealth, neither in time nor eternity can any unforeseen ill occur to us.

The futurity of a person trusting God shall be a continual development of the good things, which the Lord has laid up in store for him/her. And their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time. Calamities will come but deliverance will come also. The righteous will never be disappointed. They will cast their burden upon the Lord. For God is not a friend in the sunshine only. He is a friend indeed and a friend in need. And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

David says, the righteous have that which is better than wealth, peace of mind, peace with God, and peace in God. Not one day’s work shall go unrewarded. Their days on earth are numbered but their heavenly happiness shall be forever. So my dear Brothers and Sisters, do not lose hope in God. Trust Him at all times. He will perfect all things in due time.

God bless you.

Prayer:

Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank you for encouraging us through thy word that You will fulfill all things perfectly in our life, in its time. We give you all the glory and praise. Lord you protect the righteous when he goes through troubles and rescues him from all danger and harm. Lord continue to help us as we pass through various stages of life, in sorrow and in joy. Lord strengthen us each day of our life.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
