I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14, ” If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ”
From the above context we see how God is pleased with those that humble themselves. He always makes a condition, before He executes His plan and purpose for us in our lives. He says, “If His people will humble themselves, and pray and seek the face of God then He will hear their prayer from heaven and heal their land and bless them.” The Bible says, they that humble themselves shall be exalted.” For God gives grace to the humble.” When God is pleased with you then His eyes will be open and His ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. He is ever willing to hear your prayer from heaven. After Solomon dedicated the temple, the Lord appeared to him and gave him some reassurances. “The Lord appeared to him at night and said: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.’ When there is no rain, or when locusts come to devour the land or if there is a plague among my people, “’ then if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” This is the promise given to the people of God.
All the blessings of this world are condensed in this single word, Heal or Restore.” Yes God wants to heal and restore your land, your property, your job, your business, your family, your children who are unruly and disobedient. God wants to heal them all. But you need to humble yourself before this mighty God. Be honest in all that you do. Then God will be pleased with you and bless you. You might have seen elderly people bless the younger couples during the time of their marriage. Or any young people being blessed by elders. “Blessing” is very important. And to be blessed by God is all the more important. To whom will God bestow His blessings? He will bless those who humble themselves. God had entered into a covenant with Israel and promised to take care of them and cause them to prosper as long as they obeyed Him. Because of the covenant relationship, there was a direct correspondence between their obedience and their prosperity. This implies to us also. If we obey His ordinances then we too like the Israelites will be blessed.
While Jesus lived in this world, he told his disciples, a parable. Jesus told this parable: to his disciples to show them the importance of being humble. “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood near the altar, by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people, like the robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give one tenth of all I get. ’He boasted about himself, before God. “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He did not even come near the altar of God. He thought he was unworthy, to come before God. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt they will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
God is not looking at how much money or offering you give unto the Lord. He looks how willingly you give Him. How generous you are. We have heard some parents say, “Look my son bought this shirt for me.” or my daughter bought this dress for me.” Parents may be rich, they have abundance of clothes to wear. Yet when their daughter or son purchase a dress for them they become so excited and happy, they go about telling what their children have done for them. So is God, when you offer Him from the abundance of your heart, God is pleased with you. Therefore humble yourselves before God. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You, for this blessed day. Lord, we are thankful to You for hearing our humble prayer. Have mercy on us and be gracious to us. Forgive us of our sins and heal our land. May our land bring forth its yield. Teach us to obey your condition that we should, humble ourselves, and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways. Help us to walk according to your expectation.
In Jesus’ name we pray
Amen.
Dearly Beloved in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Deuteronomy 28:12 ,“The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land, in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”
From the above context we learn that God will open the heavens to pour out His blessings upon you. He will cause to rain upon your land and you will see greenery and prosperity in your life. God will bless all your work and everything you put your hand to.
This chapter is a very large exposition of two words, namely the blessing and the curse. They are real things and have real effects. The blessings are placed here before the curses. God is slow to anger, but swift to show mercy. It is his delight to bless. It is better that we should be drawn to what is good by a child-like hope of God’s favour, rather than we be frightened to it, by the fear of his wrath. The blessing is promised, upon certain condition that you need to diligently hearken to the voice of God. You need to keep up religion, the form and power of it, in your families and nation, and then the providence of God would prosper all your outward concerns.
To whom is the Lord promising these blessings. Many of you are longing for these promises to be fulfilled in your life. God will surely bless you as per his promise, mentioned in the above verse on one condition that you listen and obey the voice of the Lord. You need to obey the commandments of the Lord and above all you need to live according to your conscience.
The Lord shall open unto you, his good treasure. The Bible says, the Lord has his treasures of snow and of hail, and of wind, but here his good treasure, is his treasure of rain. He will send rain upon the just and the unjust to show his concern over you and help you to grow and multiply. That is God will open the heaven, to give the rain unto thy land in its season; where his good treasure of rain is laid up, and bring it forth or, for the enriching of the land, or will open the windows thereof, and pour down the blessing; so that at the proper time, both in autumn and spring, for the one is called the former, and the other the latter rain; for watering it when sown, and the latter before harvest. With this blessing the Lord will bless you and your children.
You will thus, with a good harvest be able to pay back all your debts, and begin a new business. Your barns shall be plenty and vats shall overflow. God will bless all the work of your hand; especially in agriculture, for without the blessing of rain, all the labour of the farmers would be of no purpose: And when you become prosperous, you shall lend to many nations, or people , and you shall not borrow; The connection of these words, goes to say, that you will have sufficient corn and also left over, to supply or furnish other countries with corn. And that you will even trade your produce like millet, honey, oil, and balm with other nations. Thus you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God. Therefore may God help you to listen and obey the voice of the Lord God that you may inherit all the blessings mentioned in the above verse. God bless you.
Prayer:
Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord, teach us to listen and obey the voice of the Lord. Help us to achieve all the blessings mentioned in the verse. Give us the heart to walk according to the word of God. May we and our children inherit the blessings of God. Please provide former rain and latter rain in its season so that we may reap a good harvest. Lord if you prosper us we will surely lend to others and never borrow from others. Help us to eat and be satisfied and praise the name of God.
In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
Dearly Beloved, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Isaiah 49:14, 15 , But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.”But The Lord says, “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.”
God directs this word given in the above context to Zion. Zion is the people of God. Zion turned against God and followed after the other gods of the lands. They provoked the Holy One of Israel. Owing to the misery Zion, began to doubt the power and kindness of God. Therefore Zion said “The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.” We see that Zion is dejected and downcast. She refuses to see God’s hand working for the well being of Zion. Sometimes in our life too, we may have to go through some kind of affliction or some difficulties. Then we need to suffer for the sake of our goodness. God might have allowed such difficulties for the wellbeing of our life. But we may not realize God’s goodness for us. We begin to murmur against God like Zion. She will not acknowledge nor thank God for all the wonders He has wrought upon them. All the day long they hear the bitter words: “Where is thy God?”What a foolish way for Zion to talk! She denies the reality concerning Jehovah. God is our God regardless of our current situation. God is God and all is well no matter where or what. When God allowed satan to test Job the righteous and blameless man, God permitted on one condition. That satan has no right to take away his life but to trouble him by all other means. But Job stood the test. He did not sin by his lips therefore God blessed him with double portion of blessing. God is thus concerned about you as He was concerned about Job.
We rise up in unbelief, looking around ourselves and our situation wondering where God is. In the midst of a world steeped in sin and increasing in iniquity the people of God are being battered about. There are personal questions and concerns and struggles. We are required to bear weighty crosses and heavy burdens. We struggle to see the comfort and mercy of God. We focus on our present affliction. We dwell on the difficulties that God has placed on us. God urges His people to look around! There is abundant proof that God loves us and that God will preserve us to all eternity. God responds to Zion’s doubts, by saying, “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” God will accomplish all that He has set out to perform. He stands far above even our earthly parents. They love us, but they may forget. But Not Jehovah! Even in the darkest night, He remembers His children. A mother or father may be turned away from their child because of his wrong doing, but not Jehovah from His children. He loved us while we were yet sinners!
God’s tender love is seen in His love for His children. God tenderly holds each of His children in the hollow of His bosom. God feeds His little infants with the milk of His word. They are the apple of His eye. God leads them, He has sympathy for them, He cares for them, He provides love and firm discipline when necessary. Can you then confess God, to be the God of your life? David says, “ I have kept the Lord always before me, therefore I shall not be moved. Can you say, like David, if so, God will surely save you from the hands of your enemies.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You, for this blessed day. Father, we adore You for who You are. We are foolish to think that You Have forsaken us or forgotten us. But You have engraved our image in the palm of your hands. Our walls are ever before You. For You are more concerned about us. You remember us in our lowly estate. You remember our frame that we are dust. We thank You Lord for Your kind remembrance about us.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Genesis 17:1 “Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless.”
From the above context we learn that the Lord appeared to Abram and made a covenant with him. The Righteous God made a covenant with the most righteous man Abraham during his time. Likewise we see that God found Noah as righteous man during his period in all the generations. Only to such people God demonstrates His power. Throughout the Scripture, we see how God, gently and gradually unveils His gracious character and His eternal attributes, first to one person and then to another. To David, God proved Himself to be his Shepherd. To Hagar, God revealed himself, as the all-seeing One. He became a Banner and Standard to the wandering Israelites in the wilderness, and to the frightened Gideon He became Shalom – the Lord is my Peace. He appeared to Abram when he was ninety one years old, and changed his name to Abraham. God also changed the name of Sarai to Sarah. He wanted to have close relationship with both of them as a united family.
There was an occasion when the Lord revealed Himself to Abraham as his Provider, but in this unique and touching episode, God disclosed Himself to the aging Abraham as Almighty God (El-Shaddai). It speaks of His majesty, strength, greatness, and power. And yet the name, ‘El Shaddai’, identifies our heavenly Father as the all-sufficient God – the God who is totally adequate to provide ALL we need according to His riches in mercy. We see that God made a personal encounter with Abraham to remind him that he had not forgotten His promise to him that he would bless him as the father of the nation and he will multiply him as the stars in the heaven, and expand his generation. The Bible says, “Abraham believed in God, and so it was accounted to him for righteousness”. Abraham believed that He would surely bless him with a child because God considered that which does not exist as though they existed.
God had promised Abraham with the Seed through whom all the families of the earth were to be blessed. His advancing years appeared to contradict God’s former Word. It seemed impossible that the 90-year-old Sarah and her 100-year-old husband could parent a child, as God had promised some time before. Yet, in this gracious encounter, God reveals Himself to Abraham in a new and wonderful way – as ‘God Almighty’ – ‘El Shaddai’ – ‘the All-Sufficient God’. And as it was with Abraham, so it is with all of God’s people. The All-sufficiency of God enriches, empowers, and provides for all God’s children. The precious promise of God’s all-embracing sufficiency, is equally relevant today as it was in those dim and distant days, when God called Abram, a Gentile, out of Ur, to leave his land, his wealth, and his relatives, and go to the land God promised to show him. Abraham obeyed God implicitly and so he was blessed.
The young Abram had obeyed the Lord many years earlier and his faith was already credited to him as righteousness. But many years later, when that same man of faith was ninety-nine years of age, the Lord appeared to him in a new and special way. And Said to him, “I am God Almighty, “I am El Shaddai – the All-Sufficient One. Walk before Me and be blameless.”God wanted Abraham to walk as an upright man on the face of this earth. God always promises on certain conditions. Here we see that God promised Abraham to bless him with son Isaac, if he would walk uprightly before Him. God overshadowed and stirred the womb of the elderly Sarah, and empowered old Abraham to father this child, so God is able and willing to work His all-sufficient grace in the lives of each of His children. For there is no partiality with God.
Are you righteous and blameless before God. Then God will perform a miracle for you even if you have grown old, and will magnify your name before your people as God blessed Abraham with a Child and honoured his faith. His faith in God was accounted to him as righteousness. Are you in need of a solution to your problem? Are you in need of a financial breakthrough? Are you struggling in your business? Are you waiting for God to bless you with a Child? What is it that you want God to do for you? Do only one thing. Walk uprightly before God. God wants to make a covenant with you just as He made a Covenant with Abraham, He says, “You walk uprightly before Me, then I will fulfil the desires of your heart.” Abraham waited for God’s appropriate time and so was blessed. Make Abraham the “Father of Faith,” your model in life. Then you shall receive what you have been expecting over a long period of time. God expects a change in you. If you decide to live in obedience to God then He will bless you. Walk uprightly before God. Then God will bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord, we recognise Your almighty power and great glory, for the heavens declare its truth. You are also our great Provider for which we thank You. Your gracious provision is all-sufficient and we long to serve You faithfully, and to live a blameless life before You. Lord, we know that living blamelessly before You, will help us to receive Your blessings. Teach us to be obedient to You. Help us to live as You desire.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of John 1:12 “But as many as received Him to them He gave the right to become, children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
From the above passage we learn that God gave the right to become the children of God, to all those who received His Son, Jesus Christ as their personal saviour. God the Father wants us to be His children. He says, I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings. But God feels sorry, that they often refused to receive Him as their Saviour. Just as a Father has compassion on His children so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him . This is the nature of a Father.
We see the role of a good father displayed in the parable of the “Prodigal Son.” When the prodigal son returned to his father we see the graciousness of the Father overshadowing the sinfulness of the son; as it is the memory of the Father’s goodness that brings the prodigal son back home. There are some who for their own selfish reason backslide and draw themselves away from the presence of God. When they go away from God, the devil attacks such people. They might be well educated Medical students or Engineers. But suddenly such students get caught up in depression. These students would have secured good score in their subjects, but suddenly they go into depression. This happens when one goes away from the Lord. Then the devil has an opportunity to take possession of such people. You should never give an opportunity for the devil to take possession of you. This is the moment you fall into sinful things and lose the glory of God.
Back sliding can cause disastrous consequences. The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways. He may simply fall back through neglect by not praying, reading the Bible, and not keeping his focus on living for God, It can bring dishonour to the one who laid down His life for us (Jesus Christ.) But the Lord to such people gives an invitation saying, Return to Me with all your heart. In order to revive, the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. “Return backsliding Israel, says the Lord. And I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful” says, the Lord. The backslider in heart, will have his fill of his own way. But a good man obtains favour from the Lord.
God’s merciful purpose to His people is to revive and to restore. God calls us back to himself to be in fellowship. God demonstrated His love for us through the death of His son. Therefore, if anyone has gone away from the Lord , return back to Him, that He may heal you and bind you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. God is merciful with the merciful, and with a blameless man He will show Himself blameless. God bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord help us to search our heart and see if we have backslidden. We pray for Your mercy. Forgive us of our sinful nature and cause us to reconcile with You. Help us to cherish your goodness rather than submit ourselves, to worldly pleasures. May we experience the glory of God in our lives.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
