Dearly Beloved in Christ, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Psalms 119:38, “Establish Your word to your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.”
From the above passage we see how David asks God to teach him His statutes, and to help him apply them in his life. God, by his Spirit, gives a right understanding about His word. Unless we have the Spirit of wisdom in the heart, we will not be able to understand His word. So God puts his Spirit within us, causing us to walk in His statutes. David says, “Quicken me in thy way; to redeem time, and to do every duty with liveliness of spirit. The promises of God’s word greatly impress the children of God. When we enjoy the sweetness of God’s precepts, it will make us long for more acquaintance with His word. By saying, “Establish thy word unto thy servant”. David asks God to confirm it; make it seem firm and true; let not my mind be vacillating in regard to thy truth. This seems to be a prayer against the influence of doubt and scepticism; a prayer that doubts might not spring up in his mind, and that the objections and difficulties of scepticism might have no place there.
David feared not only God but also the word of God. It may mean that he was among those who feared the Lord. “When the Bible talks about fearing God, it is usually referring to an attitude of reverence and respect, not terror. The fear of the Lord conveys a positive reverence. God said, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “Moses tells this to the people of Israel,-So that they may fear the Lord. But to those of you who are reading this message, I want to introduce you to what King David believed was the Key to everything – the Fear of the Lord. David feared God from an early age and it gave him great wisdom that prepared the way for him to become a wise and powerful king. “So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants … And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the LORD was with him .Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.”
King David’s son, Solomon, also wanted to be a wise king and asked God to give him an understanding heart to judge the people of Israel, to discern between good and evil. So at Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, ‘Ask! What shall I give you?’ And Solomon said: ‘You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king of Israel. And I do not know how to go out or come in. And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours? Then God said to him: ‘Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice, behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.”
Discerning between good and evil is what everything is about in our life. Go back to the beginning to see what God said to Adam in the Garden? “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” But what did Adam do? He ate the fruit which his wife, Eve gave it to him. The moment they ate of the tree, which God had forbidden, “Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew what is good and evil. Wisdom is discerning between good and evil and choosing to do good rather than evil. The key that opens the door to that wisdom is “the fear of the Lord.” Solomon was a wise king, at least during the early years of his reign. Here are some of his thoughts about what he knew about fearing God. He says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honour is humility.”
Dearly Beloved, Are you walking in the ways of God, like these men? Do you fear God.? Do people recognize your behaviour, as a Child of God? Are you like worldly men who cheat, bribe, and speak lies , with others for a petty matter ? If you fear the Lord and walk in his ways, then God will be pleased with you, and bless you. He will exalt you like King David who started his life as a shepherd boy. Try walking in the ways of God. Test God and see how it works to be a true Child of God. May God enable you to walk in the fear of the Lord, after reading this message. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Dear Lord we thank You for teaching us through this message the importance to fear God. And obey His Precepts. We thank You for setting before us models like David, Solomon and Job who feared God and were led by the Holy Spirit, through which they were able to walk in the fear of God and His righteousness.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
Dearly Beloved, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Matthew 20:16 “ So the last will be the first and the first last, for many are called but few are chosen. ”
From the above context we learn that God blesses those whom He Chooses. This passage is about a parable illustrating what Jesus meant in saying that some of the last will be first and the first last in the kingdom of heaven. We see how a master hires five groups of workers at different times throughout the day; The Master pays the last group the same amount that he pays the group hired early in the morning. Though that group grumbles, they received what they had agreed to earn and had not been cheated. The master insists he has the right to show generosity to whomever he wishes. Jesus concludes by saying, again, that the last will be first, and the first last.
To those of you who are reading this message I wish to say, that many come to me for counselling. I pray for each one, and I tell them what the Lord speaks while I pray for them. In one such occasion, a sister came up to me for prayer. She was very down in spirit. She said, “Brother I am the eldest child in the family. But all my younger brothers and sisters have got married. But I am yet to get married. Please pray for me. I am patiently waiting for the Lord to perform a miracle in my life.” I was very much touched in my heart when she broke out in tears saying, “I feel so ashamed and humiliated to mingle with others.” I immediately prayed for her and blessed her in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I said, “Lord You who blesses those whom you choose, bless this daughter who is waiting on You for a miracle. She feels so empty, without a suitable partner. Please remove all reproach from her and make her a joyful woman. While praying for her the Lord clearly told me that there was a curse over the family. Though all her younger siblings were married, none of them had any children. So I prayed to the Lord to break the bondage of the curse that had fallen upon her family.
Then I prayed for her and said, “You who are last will be the first.” After few weeks she called me on the phone and said, that a good proposal had come her way, and that God had answered her prayers. She was married and was blessed with twins. Only after her marriage the bondage of the curse was broken, after which her other siblings gave birth to several children. May God’s name be glorified. She was the last to get married in her family but she was the first to get a child, God blessed her with children immediately. Since she was the first to give birth to children. The above saying “The last will be the first and the first last,” came to be true in her life. God blessed her with husband and children.
From this incident, we learn how God cares for His children? No problem is too great or too small for our loving God! Jesus taught His disciples how much God cares for each of us. He said, “Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? But God does not forget even one of them. In fact, He even counts every hair on your head! So don’t be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows. If God takes care of the smallest bird in the sky, He will certainly take care of those who trust in Him. God bless you
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we are thankful to You for blessing those whom You have chosen. Lord we also thank you for blessing the woman with a suitable husband, and honouring her faith in You. We thank You Lord for telling us that the first will be last and the last will be the first. Help us to be more careful in our lives. To be watchful and remain faithful to You in order to receive the Reward from You.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Proverbs 13:12, “ Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”
From the above passage we see how Adam was to simply choose to take and eat of the fruit that hung from its branches, for he could freely eat of every tree in the garden with one exception. That he was not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, for in the day that he eats of it he shall surely die.” The moment he sinned against the Lord, Adam died spiritually and began the slow process of physical death, which has been passed to all his offspring, for all are imputed with sin and all must face death because of one man’s sin. God immediately banished Adam and his wife from the garden of Eden. In the Bible in the last book of Revelation we discover the return of the Tree of life standing in the midst of the paradise of God. “It produced twelve types of fruits, and yielded its fruit each month, while its leaves are given for the healing of the nations.” Paradise lost, in the beginning, becomes Paradise restored at the end. and whoever ‘overcomes’ will be able to eat from ‘the Tree of Life’ – For “whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world – even our faith.
We have all been taught that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and a knowledge of God gives understanding, and in Proverbs we read, that “wisdom is a Tree of Life, and to them that lay hold upon her: and everyone that retains wisdom is blessed.” Those who feed on Christ in their heart by faith with thanksgiving, have eternal life and are freed from condemnation – because He is the Source and Sustainer of life. Many reference has been quoted regarding the Tree Of Life. Firstly “the fruit of the Righteous is a Tree of Life. The spiritual fruit of the believer who shares the truth of the gospel with others brings life and truth and hope to the lost. Again we find that, “a Wholesome Tongue is a Tree of Life, while perversity is a breach in the spirit.” Both the references, point to Christ as Word of truth, for in Him is Life… and He is the wisdom of God and the power of God, for all who believe. He is the One who holds the keys of death and hell and He has within Himself the Words of eternal life. Wherever the Tree of Life is mentioned, we see an important link with faith in Christ, Who is the personification of all-wisdom. And that is why we read that, “hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a Tree of Life.”
This is a statement of fact for each one of you. For when aspirations die, plans fail, and hope is delayed, the soul is disappointed and distressed and the heart becomes sick. However, when the longings of the heart are fulfilled it becomes a Tree of Life. When a desire is delayed, plans are thwarted, then the human response is sadness and disappointment, and too often we become ‘heart-sick’. “But when the desire is fulfilled it is a Tree of Life.” When aspirations are achieved and plans come to fruition what rejoicing fills the heart. Blessed is the man that trusts in the Lord and whose hope is in the Lord our God. For He is the true Vine. He is the Bread of life, and He is the living water… the Rock of our salvation, the Hope of all the ends of the earth, and ALL who feed on Him in their hearts by faith, with thanksgiving… will eat of the Tree of Life and find Him to be their Source and Sustainer through time and into eternity. May the Lord help you to eat of the Tree of Life. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You, for this blessed day. Dear Lord, we thank You that Christ is the Light of the world and in Him is life, and health, and wholeness. Thank You that in Him we find peace with God when we trust Him. Thank You that as Your children, we have Your heavenly peace – the peace that passes all understanding, which guards the heart and the soul. Thank You Lord, for the forgiveness of sin, and life everlasting.
In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.
Dearly Beloved, I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of Isaiah 35: 3, 4, “Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted,” ‘Be strong, do not fear, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
Today God wants to tell those of you who are reading this message that you need not be perturbed or disturbed about your current situation. You need not grow weary about yourself. God is about to strengthen your feeble hands and your legs that cannot be stretched, in such a way that you will regain strength and your feet will be like that of the deer that you may run fast. God will help you to be brisk and smart. So be strong and do not fear. Behold your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you. Isaiah speaks words of encouragement to the people of God. This still speaks to us today. You may look at your past and see a wasted life. You may look toward the future and all you see is doom. But take hold of another reality in the midst of your suffering: God will come to save you! So don’t give up. Be strong. Do not fear. God was faithful in Isaiah’s day, He will be faithful today.
Do not be perturbed, for the Lord will do justice to you. God will come and save you, He will deliver you from your problems, and He will descend upon you and give you good health and cause your life to bloom. The Lord will strengthen you who are reading this message. So God has strengthened your hands, your knees but also wants to strengthen your heart. If your heart is in good state then all the other parts of your body will function properly. Therefore God is about to strengthen your heart. When the heart is fine then your mind will function well and you will be able to think well. You seem to regret that you have not been able to achieve anything in life. But God wants you to be a great achiever. That is why God has strengthened your hands and legs. Knowing that your heart is very important, God has strengthened your heart. When the heart trembles, man loses hope in life. He desires to commit suicide. He plans to elope with his fiancée, he wants to do something wrong to himself. He goes to the arrack shop and drinks a lot in order to overcome his pain and agony. He gets entangled in unwanted matters, to keep his mind free from pain and struggle. He does wrong deeds in the society and hides himself in order to vent his frustration.
Thus we see how one’s heart is very important, to function as a good person. But why does he fail to function well? This is because he is in constant fear. There is some kind of fear in his heart, in his mind, in his thoughts. He therefore goes through depression because of pain in his heart. You might have heard people say, when they are questioned, as to “what is wrong with you? Why have you not eaten properly? They would says, well “My Mind is not fine.”If you ask them why haven’t you, taken a shower or groomed yourself? Then they would again say, “My mind is not fine.”My mind is upset. So for everything our mind needs to be in good condition. Today God wants to set right your heart. Therefore God is telling you not to lose heart, or not to be perturbed. Cheer Up.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Lord we thank You for your care and concern for us. Help us to acknowledge your love for us. Thank You for strengthening our weak hands, knees and our hearts. Help us to excel in our business and in our family lives. Reign peace in our families.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen.
I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our God, who created and formed us and who never ever forgets us. The blessed word that God has given for you, today is from the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14, ” If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. ”
From the above context we see how God is pleased with those that humble themselves. He always makes a condition, before He executes His plan and purpose for us in our lives. He says, “If His people will humble themselves, and pray and seek the face of God then He will hear their prayer from heaven and heal their land and bless them.” The Bible says, they that humble themselves shall be exalted.” For God gives grace to the humble.” When God is pleased with you then His eyes will be open and His ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. He is ever willing to hear your prayer from heaven. After Solomon dedicated the temple, the Lord appeared to him and gave him some reassurances. “The Lord appeared to him at night and said: ‘I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for myself as a temple for sacrifices.’ When there is no rain, or when locusts come to devour the land or if there is a plague among my people, “’ then if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” This is the promise given to the people of God.
All the blessings of this world are condensed in this single word, Heal or Restore.” Yes God wants to heal and restore your land, your property, your job, your business, your family, your children who are unruly and disobedient. God wants to heal them all. But you need to humble yourself before this mighty God. Be honest in all that you do. Then God will be pleased with you and bless you. You might have seen elderly people bless the younger couples during the time of their marriage. Or any young people being blessed by elders. “Blessing” is very important. And to be blessed by God is all the more important. To whom will God bestow His blessings? He will bless those who humble themselves. God had entered into a covenant with Israel and promised to take care of them and cause them to prosper as long as they obeyed Him. Because of the covenant relationship, there was a direct correspondence between their obedience and their prosperity. This implies to us also. If we obey His ordinances then we too like the Israelites will be blessed.
While Jesus lived in this world, he told his disciples, a parable. Jesus told this parable: to his disciples to show them the importance of being humble. “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood near the altar, by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people, like the robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give one tenth of all I get. ’He boasted about himself, before God. “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He did not even come near the altar of God. He thought he was unworthy, to come before God. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt they will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
God is not looking at how much money or offering you give unto the Lord. He looks how willingly you give Him. How generous you are. We have heard some parents say, “Look my son bought this shirt for me.” or my daughter bought this dress for me.” Parents may be rich, they have abundance of clothes to wear. Yet when their daughter or son purchase a dress for them they become so excited and happy, they go about telling what their children have done for them. So is God, when you offer Him from the abundance of your heart, God is pleased with you. Therefore humble yourselves before God. God Bless you.
Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You, for this blessed day. Lord, we are thankful to You for hearing our humble prayer. Have mercy on us and be gracious to us. Forgive us of our sins and heal our land. May our land bring forth its yield. Teach us to obey your condition that we should, humble ourselves, and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways. Help us to walk according to your expectation.
In Jesus’ name we pray
Amen.
