His Chosen Generation

Dearly beloved, I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Deuteronomy 11:12, “ A  land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.”

From the above context we learn that our God enquires our cares for the land of Canaan. A good and large land, a land flowing with milk and honey. A land allotted or granted for His chosen generation. The people of Israel and we read that the eyes of the Lord are upon the land from the beginning of the year till the very end. The nation indicates the people of the land. Through this message the Lord wants to enquire each and every one of you, both as individuals and as a family. God wants to know what your problem is and that of your children. What is the spiritual problem that you face daily in your life. You might wonder what the greatness of the land of Canaan is. Well God is so concerned about the people of Canaan that He keeps enquiring about them from time to time.

God loved the people of Canaan. And so He kept enquiring about them, their welfare, their health issues and the system of education and their social customs, economic conditions and various other problems. The Bible says, “The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong, on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”If you are loyal to God then He will descend upon you to save you to rescue you, out of all your troubles, or problems however hard they might be. Those of you who are reading this message, God is saying that God is directly fixing His view upon you and your family. God is prophetically saying that you will sow little and reap in plenty in the days to come. For until today you had sown   plenty of seeds but you reaped very little. God is bringing the prosperity of the Land of Canaan right in front of you and your family as such.

God is actively looking for people who remain loyal to Him. When it say, His eyes “run,” it means they are on an aggressive, high-speed search. The Bible says, God has seven eyes and all seven scour the earth, looking for those whose gaze is lifted to Him for help. When God finds this kind of heart loyalty, He shows Himself strong on their behalf. He fights for them, from their enemies for God loves His people. He will never allow anyone to prevail over them.  It is all about deliverance from enemy invasion. When the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, God wants to answer by demonstrating His military strength and awesome delivering power. But He’s looking for singular focus.  That they might fear Him,  “Behold, the eye of the Lord,   is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His mercy, to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.”

We read in the Bible that  Asa’s son, Jehoshaphat, was invaded by a formidable army from Edom and Moab during his  reign,  and  he spoke up and said to the people of Jerusalem, “Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”  God delivered Jehoshaphat and his army from their enemies the Edomites.    It’s an amazing story! Have you been invaded by a foreign force that is trying to steal, kill, and destroy in your life? Give your heart in perfect loyalty to God, wait on Him, and He will show Himself strong on your behalf—He will fight for you. His eyes are eagerly searching for this kind of devotion! God is reaching for a loyal heart, to stand strong on your behalf. Will you be loyal to Him?  Then He will cast His eyes upon you and will guard and protect you not only from your enemies but also from all other day to day problems that you face in your life. God Bless you.

Prayer:    Our   loving    heavenly Father, we thank   You   for this blessed day. Father God we thank you for enquiring us, our welfare and all our problems. Help us to be loyal to You that we may enjoy, Your mighty Hand of protection upon us. Fight our enemies, for us and never put us to shame.  May we lift up our hearts to God like Jehoshaphat, and be confident in you. Deliver us from sickness, death and all kinds of evil that surround us at times.

In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen.

God’s Mercy

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given for you today is from the book of Exodus 33:19, And he said, ‘I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. “

Moses pleads with God, “Show me thy glory!” And God answers, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name, Yahweh. And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy to whom I will show mercy.”God’s Glory and God’s Name are significant according to God. When Moses asked God to reveal His Glory, God proclaims to him his name. In other words, if you grasp the name of God, you will see his glory.

God uses His name to denote   certain aspects of his Glory and Power.   The name Yahweh represents, “I am who I am. But in the above context   His name denotes His merciful nature. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious. In the first case   the focus was on the existence of God —determining his personality or power. In the second case the focus is on the gracious action of God — that he does what he does determining his choices. This is what God reveals about himself when Moses asks to see God’s glory.  The Glory of God Is His Sovereign Freedom.  It is the glory of God to be gracious to whomever he pleases.  His will moves in directions that he alone determines. And to change his will are influences, which ultimately he has ordained. His choice to show mercy to one person and not to another is a choice that originates in the mystery of his sovereign will, and   not in the will of his creature. And the above context   teaches us that this self-determining freedom of God is his name and his glory.

God says to Moses, “I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people; now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them.”But Moses responds to God with a desperate prayer for the people. He makes his case not on the basis of Israel’s worth but on the basis of God’s worth. “Your name will be profaned among the Egyptians, and your word to the fathers will fall.” So God relented.  Having heard the prayer of Moses God resumes his purpose to send the Israelites to the Promised Land. God said to Moses, “But now go, lead the people to the place of which I have spoken to you; behold, my angel shall go before you.” But Moses was not satisfied with an unknown angel. Moses said, “If thy presence will not go with me, do not carry us up from here.”This is an astonishing request. For God had said earlier said, “ I will not go up among you, lest I consume you in the way, for you are a stiff-necked people.” But Moses says that if God will not go up with them, he won’t go either. Moses is holding out for something unspeakable — that a Holy God will have so much mercy upon a stiff-necked people that He will not only go up with them to the promised land, but also, that God would make them distinct among all the peoples of the earth.  Moses’s request was unthinkable, So God said, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do; for you have found favour in my sight, and I know you by name.” In other words, God agreed to go up with this stiff-necked people. This decision of God to go with the people is pure grace.

To those of you reading this message I wish to say, that we too are stiff necked people like the people of Israel  full of pride, arrogant and disobedient to God. We always look for blessing without realizing our wicked and crooked ways. We never wish to mend our ways. We think we are too great and boast of our personality, our beauty, our status in the society, our achievements without realizing that they are gifts given to us graciously by God. Though the people of Israel were stiff necked, God had been merciful to them, and led them to the Promised Land as a pillar of cloud during the day and as a pillar of fire during the night. His presence went before them. God will be merciful to you also in spite of your wrong ways, provided you humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God. Be hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober minded, just and self controlled. Speak the things which are proper. Then God will bless you for God blesses those who fear the     Lord, and delights in His Commandments. God Bless you.

Prayer:    Our   loving    heavenly Father, we thank   You   for this blessed day. Loving Lord Jesus, we thank you for speaking to us through your word. Lord help us to be like Moses not to do anything, or go anywhere   without your presence. Teach us to intercede for others like him.  Be merciful to us Oh God.  Help us to live a righteous life. Meet our day to day needs. Thank you for the blessings you have showered upon us. Take care of us under your mighty hands. Protect us and guard us.

 In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen.

PRAYER HAS POWER

I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given  for you today is from the book of  Daniel 9:23,  “At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision:”

My Dear Brother And Sister, Here in the above context we see how the angel, Gabriel announces that he had come to bring Daniel an answer to his prayer. At the beginning of his supplications, we are not informed at what time Daniel began to pray, but as remarked above, it is most natural to suppose that he devoted the day to prayer, and since he was a man of prayer, God revealed to Daniel the stewardship of the revelation of the seventy weeks prophesy.  Daniel was the object of God’s love because he was a man of Word and prayer.  He based his prayer on the Word.  He understood the principle of fellowship with God and how to get into fellowship by confession.  God revealed many things to Daniel.  Both Daniel and the Apostle John were noted for their love-relationship with God. Both Daniel and John were also noted for receiving amazing prophetic messages. The Bible says, “ No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.  Now there was one leaning on the bosom of Jesus, a disciple whom Jesus loved.   He was none other than John the disciple to whom Jesus entrusted His mother before his death.

An answer was immediately sent to Daniel’s prayer, and it is a very memorable one. We cannot now expect   that God would send answers to our prayers by angels, but if we pray with fervency for that which God has promised, we may by faith take the promise as an immediate answer to the prayer; for He is faithful that has promised. Daniel had a far greater and more glorious redemption discovered to him, which God wanted to work out for his church in the latter days. Those who would be acquainted with Christ and His grace, must be much in prayer. Daniel’s prayer was accepted; and for the sake of that, this glorious discovery of redeeming love was made to him. The seventy weeks   prophesy   was revealed to Daniel. About the end of this period a sacrifice would be offered, making full atonement for sin, and bringing in everlasting righteousness for the complete justification of every believer, refers to the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. All blessings bestowed on sinful man comes through Christ’s atoning sacrifice, who suffered once for our sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God. Thus   paving   our way of access to the throne   of grace, and of our entrance to heaven.

We need the discipline to walk with God.  A regular habit of prayer will strengthen our spiritual life. Select a particular place of worship in your house where it will be comfortable to communicate with God without any disturbance. Business should not blunt our prayer life.  Daniel held a high position in Babylon, yet he found time for prayer and Bible reading. The Bible says, Daniel prayed three times a day. As Daniel’s prayer focused on the character of God, so should our prayers do the same.  God’s righteousness is His absolute integrity.  He always conforms to His own attributes and character.  He is faithful to His covenants (contracts) with His people.  We should never ask God in prayer to renounce His righteousness, for the goal of intercessory prayer is God’s glory.  All prayer should contribute to God’s glory and His name.

To those of you reading this message must realize that God answered the prayer of Daniel as soon as he called on the name of the Lord. Prayer has power.   How is your prayer life? Many Christians find it helpful to have resources (the Bible and other   materials) to supplement their prayer lives. These help us to keep ourself away from distraction, engage our minds, and enrich the content of our prayers. Consequently, as our prayer life grows, so does our worship and learning of Christ. As our relationship grows, our gifts and skills grow,  our meaning and motive for prayer develops. When you pray God hears your prayer as He heard the prayer of Daniel and   blessed him with extraordinary wisdom, understanding and gave him visions. When you pray God will reveal Himself to you. He will teach and instruct you in the way you should go.  He will bless you with offspring. He will meet all your needs according to His riches in glory by  Christ  Jesus. He will teach you to be content in life. You will have a close  relationship with God then no weapon formed against you will prosper. No tongue will rise against you. No one will be able to stand against you,  all the days of your life. God will protect you from the hands of your enemies. You  will  triumph  in  all that you do. God Bless you.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,  we  thank   You   for  this blessed day. Lord we praise and exalt Your holy Name. You are in heaven and do what pleases You. We are the workmanship of Your hands. Help us to be like Daniel who had separated time for prayer though he held a high post in the Babylonian Government. Enrich us with Your Word. Refine our thoughts, attitude and intentions of our heart according to Your will.

In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen

God Will Come

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, I greet and bless you in the name of our Creator, Maker, and ever unforgettable Lord Jesus Christ. The blessed word that the Lord has given  for you today is from the book of  Isaiah 35:3,4.“Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the  feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”

MY  Dear Brothers And Sisters, from the above   context we  see that God comforts those who are perturbed. He asks such people to be strong,  and not to fear, For God will come with vengeance to save you. Many of you who are reading this message are perturbed in mind due to various reasons. May be because you need to repay a  huge loan that you borrowed from the bank. Or  maybe  you need some money to pay your daughter’s college fees. But you are unable to get the needed  amount  on time. But God looks at you and says, “ God will come to save you.” So do not be perturbed. Because God will help you in some way or other. God is about to do four good things for you. Firstly He says, Be strong, Do not be afraid. Secondly God says, God will come with vengeance to help you. Thirdly He says, God will come to recompense. And fourthly He says, God will come to save you. This is the hope we have in God.

My Dear Brothers And Sisters,  In the Bible we read about king Hezekiah, who walked right in the sight of God. His people trusted in the words of the king.  It so happened  that Sennacherib  the king of Assyria, not only attacked Israel suddenly but also threatened the people and king Hezekiah. He challenged them that even their God Yahweh couldn’t help them and asked them to surrender to him rather than put their trust in their king, Hezekiah. Sennacherib told them that neither King  Hezekiah nor their God could rescue them from his large army.  The people of Israel were very perturbed. They were scared  of him and lost hope in God and even went to the extent of  surrendering themselves,  to the Assyrian king, When Hezekiah called on his people and encouraged them by saying, ““Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”

My Dear Brothers And Sisters,  Had King  Hezekiah known earlier about the attack from Sennacherib and his army, he would have prepared his army or he would have asked help from other neighbouring kings to support him in his war with Sennacherib, but since he was attacked all so suddenly he couldn’t do any preparation for war.  Neither could he face the enemy. So he cried out to God to help him. He said, “Now therefore,  O Lord, our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth, may know that you are the Lord, You alone.”The Lord replied through Isaiah saying, “ Because you have prayed, to Me, against Sennacherib, king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city. Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the king of Assyria: ‘He shall not come into this city, Nor shoot an arrow there ,Nor come before it with shield, Nor build a siege mound against it. By the way that he came, By the same shall he return; And he shall not come into this city,’  Says the Lord. ‘For I will defend this city, to save it. For My own sake and for My servant David’s sake.’ ”Then the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.  So Sennacherib king of Assyria   who boasted of his power, and his large army lost the battle, departed and went away, returned home  in shame. Because God  himself  fought the battle for Israel.

My Dear Brothers and Sisters, some problems might arise all of a sudden even in your lives. You would not have had sufficient time to even think as to what you should do to overcome such situation.             You might say look everything happened within a blink of an eye. Suddenly someone might come and stand in front of you and demand money which you might have borrowed   long time back.  Someone might attack you suddenly on the roadside   taking revenge on you  due   to some misunderstanding. Are you perturbed because of such   situations. Do not fear. Just pray to God about your   fear  and  that you need God’s help.   Be bold the Lord will fight for you. You will stand still and see the glory of God. He will neither leave you nor forsake you. Just as God sent his angel to fight against Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, God will send an angel to fight for you. To protect you from your enemies to save you and help you live peacefully. David says, “What time I am afraid, I will trust in the Lord.” You also trust in the Lord and be blessed. God Bless you.

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,  we  thank   You   for  this  blessed  day. Thank You, Father, for encouraging us to put our trust in you. Teach us to look up to God for help as     king Hezekiah did. May we learn not to be perturbed for any reason.   But to  be bold and strong.  Never to fear, but face every situation  with  the strength of God.

In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen.

God’s Resurrection Power

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of Luke Chapter 24.

Jesus asked with concern “Why are you sad? What are you discussing among yourselves?

“And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?” Then the one whose name was Cleopas answered and said to Him, “Are You the only stranger in Jerusalem, and have You not known the things which happened there in these days?” (Luke 24:17-18).

Jesus looked at the two backslidden disciples who were going to Emmaus and asked with concern, “Why are your faces downcast? What are you discussing among yourselves?” They replied, “Are you not aware of what is happening in Jerusalem?” Jesus walked with them and said, “Haven’t you read about all this in the scriptures?” Since it was night-time, they requested Him to stay with them.

As He sat at the table with them, He took bread, blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them.   Then their eyes were opened, and they recognised Him. But He vanished from their sight.(Luke 24:30-32).

Immediately they rose that very hour and returned to Jerusalem (Luke 24:33).

Dear child of God reading this blessed word, Are there any backslidden members of your family like the Emmaus disciples – God’s resurrection power will meet everyone. He will make them a blessing for the family.

I have a close friend by the name Brother Mathew. His neighbour Arockiaraj [advocate] had invited me for his daughter’s marriage. Due to ministry commitments on the day of the marriage I was not able to attend the wedding. The next day I went to pray and bless the couple. The family living as tenant’s downstairs heard my voice when I prayed for the couple on the first floor. An elderly man came and requested me to pray for his son whose both kidneys had failed. They had travelled all the way from Coimbatore to Chennai to give treatment for their son. The father said, “Its many days since we as a family had a proper meal as my son has lost the functioning of both his kidneys. Please pray for my son , our house has been a house of mourning for quite some time. I placed my hands on the stomach of the boy who had been relinquished by the doctors. Through my spiritual eyes, I could see the Lord giving him two brand new kidneys. I thanked the Lord for giving him new kidneys and left that place.

Many years later when I was doing ministry in Karunya Nagar Coimbatore I had the opportunity to meet the elderly man. He immediately ran and brought a small child and asked me, “Brother do you recognise me? Remember you came to the advocate’s house and prayed for my son who had lost both his kidneys. This is his child.” Hallelujah!

When you put your trust in God, you too will experience these same miracles! All the diseases, financial inadequacies, satanic bondages will be shattered by His resurrection power! Do not be worried!

Prayer:   Our   loving    heavenly Father,   we    thank You for this blessed day.  Lord help us to put our trust in You. Let your resurrection power destroy the satanic bondages and let us be blessed in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray.

Amen.
