Ask For Wisdom - Bro. T. Stephen

I greet and bless everyone in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. The blessed word that God has given for you today, is from the book of James 1:5, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally, and without reproach.”

From the above context, we realize that God gives wisdom to all those who ask. When you ask God for wisdom, it shall be given unto you. Learn to ask and receive from God, whatever you need. He will meet all your needs. It has been said that the knowledge of ignorance is the beginning of wisdom and recognising our lack of wisdom is a prudent step to real understanding. But the Bible says, that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and that knowledge of the Holy is understanding.

Life is full of pitfalls and snares and it is comforting to know that no matter what trials we may be called upon to face, we can ask the Lord for godly insight and better understanding, and He has promised to give all that is needed for the betterment of our life. In this passage, James is particularly referencing the wisdom we need when we are surrounded by various difficulties and dangers we encounter in our everyday lives. There are times when we do not know what to do or which way to turn, but James encourages those who lack proper insight, to ask the Lord for the necessary wisdom, because He will provide liberally to all who ask.

The Bible says, “ Until now you have asked nothing in My Name, Ask and You will receive, that your joy may be full.” James also knows that trusting the Lord for wisdom as we travel through life, strengthens our faith in Him, and helps us, to endure patiently all that is needful for our growth in life, but we fail to ask God. You are always murmuring that you don’t have anything that you desire. But you don’t realize that you have a God who delights to give generously to all who ask Him, but you must be prepared to ask. God knows that you are weak and frail and often complain about your deficit. God is ever ready to provide all the wisdom we need to maintain a steady heart, patience, endurance, an unwavering, uncompromised faith.

The Bible says, everyone who asks will receive. God wants you to revive your prayer life. Prayer is a tool to ask God whatever you are in need of. You should improve your individual and family prayer. This helps to keep the family intact. Such prayer life will help to build your family life and not distort or shatter your family apart. You are prepared to stand in a long queue to receive free gifts from the government, but you are not ready to receive what the heavenly Government is willing to give you freely. The government offers free gifts only occasionally at a stipulated period of time but God are ready to supply your needs 365 days of your life.

Thus we learn that those who lack wisdom, are supposed to ask God who will give liberally without reproach. If you look back and trace your past life, you will realise that all your failures were due to your wrong decision taken because you lacked proper wisdom. You had made unwise decision. Therefore you had been at a great loss, and deprived of a happy and peaceful life. God’s plan for you is that you should not continue to take such unwise decision in future, and suffer further loss. Therefore since God loves you so much He wants to fill you with an extraordinary wisdom and help you live a better and prosperous life. God Bless you.

Prayer: Our loving heavenly Father, we thank You for this blessed day. Loving Father, as the pressures of life are pressing down hard on us , we want to hold fast to the faith and patiently endure. So give us the wisdom we need to face the future with all joy, knowing our life is hid with Christ in God. Help us to grow in grace and in wisdom as we rest in Your love and trust in Your word.

In Jesus name we pray.

Amen.
